Martin Truex Jr. releases statement on death of former partner Sherry Pollex
Following the news that Sherry Pollex had lost her battle with ovarian cancer, Martin Truex Jr. has released a statement on his former partner. The two were together for 20 years before splitting at the beginning of 2023. With their joint efforts in philanthropy, the two accomplished a lot together and inspired thousands.
Martin Truex Jr. is not someone that usually makes public statements. When the two announced they were going their separate ways, Truex Jr. made it clear there would be no questions about it and his short statement would be the only statement on the matter.
Truex Jr. shared a statement today, remembering his former partner.
“From the very minute of her diagnosis, Sherry was determined to not only fight ovarian cancer with everything she had, but also make a difference in the lives of others battling this terrible disease.
“Sherry’s passion for making a difference in the lives of others was inspiring to everyone. Through her tireless charity work for so many years, her legacy will live well beyond our lifetimes and continue to help countless families who are battling ovarian and childhood cancer. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to her entire family, who have shown incredible strength and resilience throughout her battle.”
Martin Truex Jr. and Sherry Pollex began their charity and philanthropic work with the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation in 2007. Working to bring awareness to and advocate for research in childhood and ovarian cancer, they were frequently seen at races together. Pollex was a fixture in the garage area for many years.
