Massive NASCAR Xfinity Series wreck causes red flag at Rockingham as cars run out of fuel

With 10 laps to go in the race, cars began to run out of fuel as the NASCAR Xfinity Series restarted at Rockingham Speedway. The field wrecked behind the leaders, with multiple cars unable to take off on the restart.

A red flag has been thrown following the 13th caution of the day. NASCAR at Rockingham has returned, and in a big way.

Ryan Sieg began to run out of fuel under caution as the leader. He lost his front row position for being so slow. Sieg, Christian Eckes, and others were unable to fire off. A massive wreck, nine cars involved, and extensive cleanup on the way.

Cautions are breeding cautions. This one happened to take out a lot of fast cars. Justin Allgaier, Nick Sanchez, Brandon Jones, Carson Kvapil, Eckes, and more. A wild turn of events. Jesse Love and Sammy Smith now control their own destiny.

This wreck changed everything. But more importantly, it led to another wreck. A 14th caution came out quickly once this race restarted. These drivers are running out of fuel and just can’t keep running like this.

Another red flag has been displayed following the 14th caution of the evening. Sammy Smith and Taylor Gray are going to lead this race in the first overtime restart. Let’s see if we get a repeat or any retaliation for what happened at Martinsville weeks ago.

NASCAR has made its return to Rockingham in a big way. This is great to watch, but let’s finish this race up, folks. Another caution or two, and we’re going from wrecks and cautions providing great drama to wrecks and cautions ruining the finish.

These Xfinity Series teams should have known fuel would be an issue. The Truck Series race ended in a similar way. Though I will say, the Truck Series kept it cleaner than what we’re seeing right now.

If you don’t love the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Rockingham, then you don’t like stock car racing. This track is slick and greasy from these Xfinity tires, the fuel is running out, and the heat has gotten to more than one driver today.

Jesse Love and others appear to be out of fuel or close to it. This NASCAR race at Rockingham is going to get a finish. Let’s see who ends up on top at the end of this overtime. The Xfinity Series race at Rockingham has been great, and these fans want to see a great finish.
