Matt LaFleur says Jordan Love will play in Packers preseason finale

Matt LaFleur has revealed the status of Jordan Love for the Packers’ preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks.
Evidently, Green Bay’s head coach isn’t afraid to get his quarterback some more work before the regular season kicks off. According to LaFleur, Love will suit up for the Packers showdown with the Seahawks next weekend.
“Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur answered questions from the media on Sunday afternoon following Saturday night’s preseason contest with the New England Patriots,” wrote Zach Kruse of Packers Wire. “LaFleur confirmed quarterback Jordan Love will play in the preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Love has started each of the Packers’ two preseason games and will now get one more on-field appearance before LaFleur’s team goes to Chicago for Week 1.”
Alas, it makes sense for the Packers head coach to want Love to be as ready as humanly possible for his first season as the team’s starting quarterback. Throughout the preseason, Love has shown flashes, but when you’re going to be compared to Aaron Rodgers, you need to be better than good.
The Packers have designs on making a playoff run with Jordan Love under center in 2023, and they’re ready for his star to turn. Time will tell, but a little more practice won’t hurt the former first round pick.

Last week, Campbell missed joint practices with the New England Patriots, as well as the team’s preseason game against the franchise. However, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst isn’t concerned with any long-term effects on Campbell, as he explained to the media.
“It’s not a long-term thing,” Gutekunst said Friday, via Zach Kruse of Packers Wire. “He’s a seasoned pro so I don’t think this will hold him back much.”
That’s great news for Green Bay. Campbell has been a stud for the Packers since coming to the franchise in 2021, truly breaking out after playing for the Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals prior. He’s going to be a huge part of the defense once again in 2023, so a healthy ankle will certainly be needed.
In his stead, third-year linebacker Isaiah McDuffie received some extra reps. While he’s not pushing Campbell for his job, it was beneficial to McDuffie to get some extra work in, and it’s helped him get ready for the upcoming season.
“It was very (beneficial),” McDuffie told Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com. “Any snaps I get I feel like are very, very critical for my development and for me to take that next step.”
