Matt LaFleur warns Packers to stay focused after multiple NFL comebacks in Week 2
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was quick to point to a wild NFL week as an example while coaching his players at halftime. With multiple teams blowing huge leads on Sunday, LaFleur warned his team to not fall into the same trap against the Bears after entering halftime with a 24-7 lead.
Matt LaFleur warns the Packers about first-half leads
As the teams came back onto the field for the start of the second half, LaFleur was interviewed about the message he sent to his players before the game. The Packers scored just one touchdown in Week 1, and scored three times in the first half against Chicago — but LaFleur doesn’t feel the big lead is nearly enough against any NFL opponent.
“Well I think the run game kinda got us going a little bit and we made some big plays,” said LaFleur. “Told the guys at halftime we gotta have that mindset, it’s 0-0. I think you can see it all across the league this week, teams coming back. So, one play at a time, 0-0.”

LaFleur was then asked how he felt about the performance of his defense after he stated that he was disappointed in their performance in the season opener.

“The first drive started a little shaky but I thought they rebounded well. The guys are competing, they’re playing their butt off.”
On Sunday, three teams saw late comebacks in some of the most unlikely fashions — including the Raiders, Browns and Ravens. The Raiders saw a 20-0 halftime lead erased in the final seconds of the game before losing to the Cardinals in overtime. The Ravens led the Dolphins at their halftime 28-7, and gave up 28 points in the fourth quarter in a loss, and the Browns gave up a 30-17 lead in the fourth quarter to fall to the Jets.
