Maxx Crosby addresses sideline shove of Mike Caldwell
Some noticed that Maxx Crosby had shoved one of his staff members in Mike Caldwell, the Raiders’ linebackers coach, on the sideline during their 19-point loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. However, Crosby has since explained why there was nothing to see there.
With the shove being seen during the 32-13 loss for Las Vegas to the Steelers, Crosby has addressed the matter postgame. He described it as ‘a love push’ as Caldwell is ‘his guy’.
“Mike Caldwell Is My Guy,” Crosby tweeted. “One Of The Best People In The Business. Thats A Love Push, Stop Reaching.”
Crosby later discussed it with the media postgame as well.
“Yeah, I mean, that’s – I’m not even thinking about it. Then, all of a sudden, I open my phone and it’s blowing up as I’m in the cold tub trying to get ready, you know, for next week already,” said Crosby. “People? You know how they do it. They just bend narratives.”
“Mike Caldwell is a great dude. We have a great relationship. We do that all the time. It’s like, you know, people look at it and, ‘Oh, they’re losing and Maxx pushes him!’. Like, that’s how, you know, we play football. We’re grown men. We’re alpha males. You know, we don’t greet each other the same,” Crosby continued. “So, I just, like – he was just hyping me up and I hyped him up. Like, let’s go, you know what I mean. We’re down but it just shows, like, we’re not quitting, you know what I mean.”

Actually, Crosby blames the broadcast crew for casting it as he knows it looked much worse than it was.
“The camera? They made it look bad,” laughed Crosby. “It looked like I was throwing him out the club but that was not what happened at all.
With that, Croby couldn’t be any clearer about how he actually feels about Caldwell.
“That was literally all it was. I’ll look in every camera – I love Mike Caldwell, I love Mike Caldwell, I love Mike Caldwell,” joked Crosby. “That’s my guy. It’s all I’m going to say. I love him. It was literally zero. It’s completely made up out of dust.”
