Maxx Crosby calls for Aaron Rodgers to join Las Vegas Raiders

Aaron Rodgers will be playing somewhere new in the 2025 season. The New York Jets recently released the quarterback after just two seasons with the franchise. If Rodgers does sign somewhere else, it will be the third team of his career.
If you ask Maxx Crosby, No. 12 head out West to play for the Las Vegas Raiders. Crosby believes a big season is coming from Rodgers, nearly two years removed from his Achilles injury. Las Vegas is in desperate need of a quarterback and Crosby certainly made his pitch.
“I think with all the doubt, all the negativity around Aaron Rodgers — ‘Oh, he needs to retire.’ Things like that, he’s getting cut by the Jets. I know he’s 42 or 41… I think he’s going to have a big year this year. I hope it’s in our town,” Crosby said.
In 17 games last season, Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Team success was not there for the Jets, finishing with a 5-12 record. Not what they were expecting even as Rodgers was getting back to full strength.
Crosby did point out how recovering from an Achilles is one of the more difficult processes in sports. Rodgers was not the only quarterback to go through the injury last season.
“The first year off an Achilles is one of the hardest things to do,” Crosby said. “You seen it happen with Kirk (Cousins). Kirk had a down year. It happened with Aaron. He struggled early on but got better as the season went.”

Using the late-season success and performing well in a new uniform is Rodgers’ goal and Crosby hopes to eventually call him a teammate.
Multiple destinations have been reported on when it comes to Rodgers. While the Raiders are not currently one, the Los Angeles Rams were viewed as a West Coast option. But with Matthew Stafford coming back, you can cross them off the list.
Rodgers may not wind up leaving New York. The Giants may come calling as the post-Daniel Jones era begins. Taking a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft is a possibility and Rodgers could serve as a stop-gap guy.
Crosby might have to make a few more recruiting pitches while getting his new head coach, Pete Carroll, and offensive coordinator, Chip Kelly, on board too. Maybe the franchise’s new minority owner could make a phone call too if needed.
