ESPN’s NFL draft expert Mel Kiper has updated his 2022 cornerback rankings following a wild Week Four across college football. With this year’s class of cornerbacks beginning to show what they can do in a variety of coverages, Kiper has updates his list of top draft candidates.

Here is an updated look at who Mel Kiper likes at cornerback in the 2022 NFL draft following Week Four.

2022 cornerback rankings

1. Derek Stingley Jr., LSU

Stingley has been on every NFL team’s radar since his freshman season which helped lead the LSU defense to a national championship. Currently dealing with a reaggravated foot injury, he remains on top of Mel Kiper’s list.

2. Roger McCreary, Auburn

McCreary has continued to rise up draft boards in his senior season. The three-year starter has six career interceptions and got his first career pick six this season.

3. Andrew Booth Jr., Clemson

Booth falls slightly in Kiper’s updated big board but remains one of the top cornerbacks in the 2022 NFL draft class. He had a breakout year in 2020 and had continued to provide a bright spot on the struggling Clemson team this season.

4. Trent McDuffie, Washington

McDuffie has only played in 19 career games with two interceptions but has done well in is short time on the field. With three forced fumbles on 68 tackles, he can also force turnovers that way.

5. Kaiir Elam, Florida

Elam drops from Mel Kiper’s big board as he continues to deal with an injury. With five career interceptions and 18 pass deflections, he has great ball skills as a big cornerback.

6. Martin Emerson, Mississippi State

Despite just one career interception in 28 games, Emerson brings excellent pursuit. He had 125 career tackles with five tackles for loss.

7. Josh Jobe, Alabama

Jobe steps up as the featured cornerback at Alabama after complimenting Patrick Surtain II over the past few seasons. As a senior, he brings experience and consistency on the outside.

8. Ahmad Gardner, Cincinnati

Nicknamed “Sauce,” there is no question Gardner has the mentality of an NFL cornerback. Mel Kiper includes him in the top 10 with seven career interceptions and 13 pass deflections.

9. Mykael Wright, Oregon

Wright has two career interceptions with 14 pass deflections and 71 tackles. He also has five tackles for loss over his career at Oregon.

10a. Cam Taylor-Britt, Nebraska

Taylor-Britt is a senior cornerback who brings plenty of experience to the table. With four career interceptions and a pick six in 2019, he also had four forced fumbles that season. His 101 tackles are also among the most by Mel Kiper’s top cornerbacks.

10b. Derion Kendrick, Georgia

Kendrick looked like a first-round pick last season before issues led him away from Clemson and toward Georgia for his senior season. The converted wide receiver has four career interceptions with 11 pass deflections and a pick six in 2019.
