Mercedes-Benz drops repo attempt on Shilo Sanders' car ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

As Shilo Sanders, the son of Colorado coach Deion Sanders, prepares for the 2025 NFL Draft, he has gotten one loose end tied up. Mercedes-Benz has dropped a repo attempt on his car.
According to USA Today’s Brent Schrotenboer, the auto maker backed off its attempt to repossess Sanders’ car after he was past due on his note. The company withdrew its legal motion for relief from the bankruptcy court where Sanders is trying to clear himself of more than $11 million in debt.
On Friday, the elder Sanders had noted his son had taken care of all his financial obligations. He said:
“I know some other bull junk came out, but he fulfilled all his financial obligations,” Deion Sanders said. “These issues appear to have risen due to disruptions in the payment process. This is from his attorney: ‘following the termination of Mr. Sanders online account access.’ So, he’s good. He’s good.”
Shilo Sanders disclosed just shy of $325,000 worth of assets to his name in a December 2023 bankruptcy case related to an $11.89 million dollar judgment against him stemming from an assault when Sanders was in high school, according to Westword. And this filing raised questions about Sanders’ NIL earnings.

But as Deion Sanders noted, this incident is now behind Shilo Sanders and everyone else. It’s all about preparation for the draft later this month.
“Shilo got several years of film that are impeccable,” Sanders said. “Shilo had one negative game that we could denote. (He has) been a pillar of consistency. Shiloh is an old school player playing up under these new school guidelines. Shilo is a dog. He ran surprisingly, I’m pretty sure he’s surprised a lot of you guys, his 40-time today, and I’m so darn proud of him. He does not take a backseat to his brother. He does not take a backseat to anybody.
“He’s a worker and he’s a go-getter, and he’s a dog. He’s a doer. I love what he represents. I love who he is on and off the field. He’s a great young man.”
During his tenure at Colorado, Shilo Sanders recorded 137 tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, three fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, five passes defended, an interception and a defensive touchdown. He was highly productive and will get a shot at the next level during the NFL Draft later this month.
