WATCH: Miami Dolphins head Mike McDaniel trolls Tua Tagovailoa during win over Texans
Tua Tagovailoa and Mike McDaniel have gone together like peanut butter and jelly for the Miami Dolphins thus far.
To say McDaniel has been a godsend send for the former Alabama quarterback may not be stressing his importance enough. Many were labeling Tagovailoa a bust as early as last season, but the first-year Dolphins coach has completely turned his quarterback’s career around for the better.
While his on-field ability has been tremendous throughout 2022, it’s obvious that Tagovailoa is more comfortable with his new coach than the previous staff. Just check out this hilarious video captured from the Dolphins’ victory over the Houston Texans last Sunday, where McDaniel and his quarterback are able to joke and troll each other.
“Last night I couldn’t sleep, so I was thinking about when you randomly hit me up that you were YouTubing me, and so then I YouTubed you, showing all this high school (expletive) from you, and bro, your technique was trash,” McDaniel told the Dolphins quarterback.
Afterwards, the two shared a nice laugh, showcasing the respect and friendship between the coach and the quarterback.

Alas, the improved relationship with his coaching staff has done wonders for Tagovailoa, who’s playing his way into the Most Valuable Player conversation. Miami hasn’t lost a game in which he’s played the entire time, their only losses coming when the Dolphins have lost their quarterback due to injury.
At the moment, the Dolphins lead the AFC East with a record of 8-3, and Tagovailoa’s numbers have never been better. Thus far through the 2022 season, the former Alabama signal caller has passed for 2,564 yards, 19 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
The vibes haven’t been this good in Miami in a long time, and the Dolphins future is bright as long as Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa are working together.
