Micah Parsons calls out San Francisco 49ers, Brock Purdy after free agent departures

The new league year has not been too kind to the San Francisco 49ers. Multiple big-name players have left the franchise, headlined by wide receiver Deebo Samuel who the Washington Commanders acquired in a trade. A ton of defensive pieces are gone too after the unit struggled during the 2024 season.
Rivals of the 49ers are enjoying the movement, specifically Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys. He knows San Francisco is going through change due to an upcoming quarterback contract. Brock Purdy is set for an extension and is thought to be asking for top dollars.
Purdy was previously on a rookie contract as Mr. Irrelevant in the seventh-round. Parsons decided to welcome the 49ers to “reality” of having a highly paid quarterback on the roster moving forward.
It’s no secret how big of a throne San Francisco has been in Dallas’ side over the past few years. Whether in the regular season or playoffs, the 49ers usually find themselves on the winning end. Having one of the best rosters out there has helped, especially on the offensive line which Parsons directly lines up against.
Purdy himself has played in two games against the Cowboys, throwing for 512 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions while completing 70% of his throws. Parsons has yet to sack him either but did not play during the 2024 matchup between the two teams.
There is no scheduled meeting between Dallas and San Francisco, for now. Facing off in the playoffs is always a possibility but after two consecutive seasons of playing, it’s not on the regular season schedule.

Micah Parsons reacts to Washington Commanders trading for Laremy Tunsil
Day One of the NFL free agency has brought plenty of eye-popping moves, even in the trade market. Washington has maybe made the biggest deal of them all, acquiring five-time Pro Bowl tackle Laremy Tunsil from the Houston Texans. Jayden Daniels will now have one of the best out there protecting his blindside.
This has already sent ripples throughout the NFC East, with reactions coming in. Micah Parsons will be going up against Tunsil twice a season with the Dallas Cowboys in a heated division rivalry. Parsons gave his instant response to the trade, possibly having the same thought as a lot of people out there of “Wtf.”
Parsons has more than enjoyed going up against Washington throughout his career. The 10.5 sacks and nine tackles for a loss vs. the Commanders are more than when facing any other opponent. Sure, being in a division with them helps, but Parsons has been dominant when seeing the burgundy and gold.
Tunsil joining the roster brings a little more complication, though. Parsons will now directly have to line up across from someone who has been voted to three consecutive Pro Bowls. Houston needing to reshake the offensive line and Tunsil having a large contract led to this trade, not the talent level.
