Micah Parsons emotional over DeMarvion Overshown knee injury after loss to Bengals
Micah Parsons was visibly upset on Monday night following Dallas’ loss to Cincinnati. Not only did the Cowboys lose in a horrific matter, one of the team’s best defensive players went down with another injury. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown suffered a knee injury in the second half, one Mike McCarthy described as “serious.”
The emotions continued for Parsons in the locker room when speaking to the media. He described how he felt when Overshown was being attended to by trainers before tears began to flow. In a night where a lot went wrong for Dallas, Overshown’s injury might hurt Parsons the most.
“I cried,” Parsons said. “That’s like my little bro, bro. He don’t deserve that either, he really don’t. So, just understand what he’s going to go through and to be there for him physically and mentally is so challenging because he’s so talented. The year he was having — I just don’t think that’s fair either.”

Overshown is in his second NFL season and now facing his second knee injury. A torn ACL in the 2023 preseason kept him out for the entire year. Nothing is official about this specific injury but if as bad as McCarthy described, the linebacker will certainly miss the rest of the season. Maybe even parts of 2025.

Bright spots from what had been an underwhelming season in Dallas were desperately needed. Overshown was certainly one, playing at a high level. Drafting him in the third round out of Texas appeared to be quite a steal for the Cowboys front office.
Unfortunately, the process of rehabbing a knee injury has once again begun. Parsons plans to be there for Overshown through the entire process and help him get back to full health. Four games remain in the regular season before an important offseason commences in Dallas.
A tough night in all aspects for Parsons, Overshown, and the Cowboys.
