Micah Parsons defended himself after former Dallas Cowboys teammate DeMarcus Lawrence questioned his work ethic on social media. While speaking to Clarence Hill of All City DLLS, Parsons said it’s “outrageous” for anyone to come after him for not being focused.

“I think it’s ridiculous,” Parsons said, per Pro Football Talk. “You watch the tape. There’s no question I’m locked in. I’m giving my actual best effort out there on the field, which I think that’s all that matters. I have an obligation to be the leader of my family, to take care of my family, and that’s to provide for them. I keep the main thing, the main thing. But I like off-field adventures, too.

“Everyone has their selection of how they want to deal with things. Some people drink. Some people smoke. I like to tweet. I like to be active and know about ball. I like to know what everyone else is doing. And that’s just me. I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. What I care about is the effort you give me on the football field, and that’s something you can’t question. I know I’m one of the best players and as long as I’m performing that way, it shouldn’t matter. When you jump offside on the goal line, is that because I’m tweeting? I think it’s ridiculous, outrageous.”

More on Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence

The feud between Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence began after Lawrence signed with the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. Dallas is my home,” Lawrence told Brian Nemhauser from the Seattle facility. “I made my home there. My family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there but I know for sure I‘m never gonna win a Super Bowl there. So, yeah. We here.”

Parsons heard the comments and went after Lawrence. “This what rejection and envy look like!” Parsons said. “This some clown s***!” Lawrence wasn’t going to let that slide and had a strong response for Parsons.

“Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left,” Lawrence wrote on X.

Lawrence was a member of the Cowboys from 2014 to 2024. In his 11 seasons in Dallas, Lawrence recorded 61.5 sacks and was named to the Pro Bowl four times. Parsons has been with the Cowboys since 2021. He has made the Pro Bowl in all four seasons and has registered 52.5 sacks.
