Playing for the Dallas Cowboys means the love and hate are going to be equally loud. That just comes with playing for America’s Team. Still, considering all the doubt around Dallas, All-Pro LB Micah Parsons is making a list and taking names ahead of the season.

Parsons spoke about his mindset on the criticism toward the Cowboys on ‘The Pivot’ this week. He said that he has noted everything that people have said against Dallas, especially when it comes to their projected finish in the NFC in 2023.

“All the disrespect? Bro, I bookmarked everything everyone said,” said Parsons. “I just saved it all and said, ‘You know what? This is how they see us? Bet.’

We the best team in the NFC,” Parsons said. “Like, how dare you say, in front of me, this team is the best in the NFC.”

That disapproval of his team has pushed Parsons to a new level of motivation coming into his third season in the NFL. It has even driven him to make a point of making life hard on Dallas’ offense, specifically QB Dak Prescott, in training camp in order to rally the rest of the defense to match his energy.

“The approach, the mindset? It’s how I’m taking it. If I want to be the best? I’m the best every day. I can’t be the best on Monday, not on Tuesday,” explained Parsons. “Every day I say (to Dak) I’m coming for you, every day I’m competing for it. It’s not nothing personal. But I feel like I’ve got to be greater than you every day.”

As a Pro Bowler, Defensive Rookie of the Year, and, as of last year, MVP candidate, Parsons has established himself individually early on as one of the league’s best players. Now, in his third year as a pro, he wants his team to get the same recognition by proving everyone wrong about what they can accomplish.

Parsons on Cowboys missing Super Bowls: ‘I’m tired of watching’

Micah Parsons is tired of waiting for his moment to play for the Lombardi Trophy.

Though Parsons is just entering his third season in the league with the Dallas Cowboys, the star edge rusher has already accomplished a lot. 26.5 sacks in 33 games, Defensive Rookie of the Year, two First-Team All-Pro selections. Even so, the 24-year-old isn’t satisfied. He wants to help the Cowboys win their first Super Bowl since 1996.

“I can’t wait for mine,” Parsons said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I’ve only been here two years and I’m tired of watching. I feel like each year I’ve been here, I had a team that’s capable. I didn’t walk into a bad organization with bad talent. My first year, we lost to the (San Francisco) 49ers because we were undisciplined. We had so many penalties. Offsides and we were about to get the ball back. We got a defensive holding on the d-lineman. That’s non-football. That’s not football related.

“We missed our opportunities last year with the dropped picks and stuff. I don’t even blame the offense, bro,” said Parsons. “Self-reflection? People don’t want to do that. It’s so easy to blame (someone else). What didn’t I do?”
