Micah Parsons injury update: Cowboys star pass rusher's status vs. Eagles revealed, per report
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons will return from injury Sunday against the Eagles, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Parsons has missed the past four games after suffering the ankle injury in Week 4 against the Giants.
His return is much-needed as the Cowboys find themselves in the midst of a three-game losing streak. Parsons had 14 tackles, one sack and one pass defended through the first four games of the season.
Dallas is 1-3 in the games that Parsons has missed this season. He recently opened up about how difficult it has been to watch his team struggle.
“It’s tough because I feel like I could’ve made an impact in these games,” Parsons explained. “In those games where we’re losing by six points I definitely feel like I can make a difference. Six-point game, you tell me (that) me and (DeMarcus Lawrence) can’t make a difference, an extra stop in a one-score game. It’s hard for me to believe that we can’t. So my goal, if I’m up this week is to go out and prove that.”
The Cowboys rank in the bottom half of the NFL in sacks with 18, so getting Parsons back in the lineup will be big since he has recorded at least 13 sacks in his first three seasons.
Unfortunately, while Dallas gets Micah Parsons back from injury on defense, it also loses a key player offensively. It was revealed Saturday that tarting quarterback Dak Prescott will undergo season-ending surgery.

Report: Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to undergo surgery, out for 2024 season
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will undergo surgery on a partially torn hamstring, ending his 2024 season. The decision is not quite yet final as Prescott will get one more opinion on the matter.
But the Cowboys are preparing to be without their star quarterback for the final nine games of the year. Prescott will be out of commission for at least four months.
“Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is planning to undergo season-ending surgery on his partially torn hamstring, pending the opinion of one final specialist, sources told ESPN,” Schefter said via X. “Prescott is flying to New York to meet with the specialist, but Cowboys doctors already believe he needs the surgery that would sideline him four months.”
Earlier on Saturday, reports surfaced of Dallas not putting Prescott on injured reserve quite yet besides the injury occurring during the Atlanta loss. Cooper Rush finished out the game against the Falcons and was preparing to start on Sunday against Philadelphia. Now, Rush should be the guy the rest of the way.
