Micah Parsons on Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift: You're the Stephen Curry of football
The biggest news out of Week 3’s NFL slate wasn’t the 70-point performance of the Miami Dolphins or the Green Bay Packers’ 18-point fourth-quarter comeback. Instead, Travis Kelce‘s newly public relationship with Taylor Swift has stolen the headlines.
Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons had high praise for Kelce’s skills, on and off the gridiron. He called on the rest of his NFL brethren to follow in Kelce’s lead.
“You shot from deep but you scored! You’re Stephen Curry, my brother. You might be the new Steph of football,” Parsons said. “That’s dope. I want to see somebody shoot at somebody else. The NFL is up right now. City boys are up.
“I challenge all my NFL guys to start shooting from deep. Let’s see if someone can get somebody like — I don’t know — but I’ve got to think about this. We’ve got to start shooting, and publically shooting. Shoot at Zendaya or something. I think [Kelce] set the standard for this.”
Kelce did not disappoint in front of his new boo. He finished the game with seven receptions for 69 yards and one touchdown. The touchdown was the Chiefs’ lone touchdown of the second half and gave them a 41-0 lead. Kansas City would go on to win 41-10.

Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes knew that Swift was in the house, so it was a big moment for him to get the ball to his most trusted ball catcher.
“I felt a little bit of pressure. And so I knew I had to get it to Travis. And of course, on a route that Travis, he does his own thing and makes up a route and I throw it to ’em. So, I think he wanted to get in the end zone as much as all the Swifties wanted him to,” Mahomes said following the game.
Mahomes has proven to excel in high-pressure situations. He finished the game completing completed 24 of 33 passes for 272 yards while tossing in three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also had three rushes for 28 yards. Travis Kelce finished with seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown. Kansas City running back Jerick McKinnon caught the other two touchdown passes.
Next up for the Chiefs is a road matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football. They have opened as 9.5-point favorites over the Aaron Rodgers-less Jets, per Vegas Insider.
