Micah Parsons has his eye on Houston Texans rookie QB CJ Stroud. On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys’ linebacker praised Stroud’s impressive start to his NFL career.

“We need to get on board with CJ Stroud,” Parsons said. “[He has] the most pass attempts without an interception to start your career and I want you to realize who CJ Stroud has now beat, OK? He just did something Deshaun Watson hasn’t been able to do. He just dominated this Steelers defense, a defense that we said had TJ Watt, has Kevin Hayward, has Alex Highsmith, and he dominated them.”

Stroud has certainly burst out of the starting gates. In four games, the former Ohio State standout has completed 94-of-his-151 pass attempts for 1,212 yards and six touchdowns while throwing zero interceptions.

Amid an outstanding start, perhaps Shroud’s brightest moment came on Sunday in the Texans’ 30-6 win over the Steelers. In the triumph, Stroud tallied 306 passing yards and two touchdowns while completing 53.3% of his passes.

Shroud is averaging 303 passing yards per contest. For reference, if Stroud maintained his current pace, he’d finish the regular season with 5,151 passing yards. Andrew Luck currently holds the rookie passing record set in 2012 at 4,374 yards.

“CJ Stroud is the real deal “We cannot let CJ go unknown. He was nice. He was my QB1 coming out of the draft. I was like, ‘Man, CJ is that guy.’ I think he’s gonna be dominant and things like that because his confidence; the things that he’s bringing to this game.

“CJ is gonna be the Offensive Rookie of the Year if it’s not Bijan [Robinson]. It’s gonna come down to the wire, but if he stays on this pace, I think CJ is going to walk away with it.”

CJ Stroud already racks in awards

Stroud has already hauled in some hardware. The 6-foot-3 QB was named an AFC Players of the Month in September. In fairness, Stroud 384 passing yards in Week 2 are the most in a single game by an Ohio State quarterback in NFL history.

Stroud is single-handedly changing the culture in Houston. The team’s win over the Steelers this weekend was the organization’s first win at home in 644 days. After the victory, Stroud gave thanks to the fans.

“I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,” Stroud said after the win, via the official transcript. “Y’all deserve to feel special. Y’all deserve to root the Texans on. Not winning since 2021, I think it was around Christmas, that is not flying for anybody in this building. I want them to know we’re fighting our tails off every day to make sure y’all walk around with Texans gear pride, y’all walk around with that swag that we walk around with when we get a W.”
