Micah Parsons promises Super Bowl in 2025 for Dallas Cowboys
Expectations fell short in 2024 for the Dallas Cowboys, not even making a postseason appearance. People inside the building have talked about the goal of winning a Super Bowl, especially Micah Parsons. Arguably nobody has wanted to win a championship more than the star edge rusher, discussing as such on multiple occasions.
The latest came on Wednesday, promising to win the Super Bowl in 2025. Parsons admitted he was verbalizing goals/prayers on his podcast but believes Dallas will be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy next February. He already appears ready to get to work for next season.
“We are not done yet,” Parsons said. “I hope that y’all don’t think we are done yet. It’s going to be an amazing, amazing, amazing thing to see next year when we’re holding the trophy. Yes, it’s big goals but I’m telling y’all right now, it’s holding the trophy. I’m saying my prayers out loud, I’m saying my goals out loud, so y’all can hear them. We’re going to be holding a trophy up next year. Point blank, period.”
There is a lot for the Cowboys to shuffle through before thinking about contending for a Super Bowl. Most important is likely the head coach as Mike McCarthy‘s contract is set to expire in the coming days. Nothing official on his future has come from Jerry Jones, leaving the spot in limbo. For all we know, Dallas could be going through a coaching search as other teams compete in the playoffs this year.

Parsons himself is in line for a new contract. In recent times, the Cowboys have become famous for dragging their feet in these types of deals. Just last year, Dak Prescott‘s negotiation extended through training camp, and CeeDee Lamb was signed just before the regular season.

The goal for Parsons is to get something done by the time offseason training begins so he can prepare properly for the season.
“I definitely think I need to be here in camp because honestly when so much of the defense is surrounded by your play, your presence, and others getting lined up based off of you, I need to be here so that way I can get these guys [together],” Parsons said. “We can rush together, build that chemistry. So I think it’s extremely important that I’m back at OTAs and minicamp and all those types of things.”
From there, the Cowboys will have to take steps they have not in nearly 30 years. Until this year, making the playoffs was never an issue for Parsons. Winning games once in the postseason has been, though. Dallas has not been further than the Divisional Round, losing a few heartbreakers along the way.
Getting to the NFC Championship game would break a long drought for the franchise. But Parsons promises to go two steps further and win Dallas’ first Super Bowl since 1996.
