Before Micah Parsons became a superstar with the Dallas Cowboys, he was an All-American linebacker at Penn State from 2018 to 2020. And with the Big Ten adding West Coast teams like USC, UCLA and Oregon to the conference, Parsons believes the move will make the Big Ten a stronger brand. On3 attended a Raising Cane’s event in Dallas that featured Parsons and asked him his thoughts about the Big Ten becoming the Big 18.

“If you look at the Big Ten, Big 12, Big Ten is known for ground or pound football, things like that,” Parsons said. “SEC is known for the elite wide receivers and Pac-12 is known for DB play, receiver play, a little bit like that, but they’re more in the three-three-five set and things like that.”

Parsons added: “Big 10 has more like 4-3, so it gives you a chance to face different type of competitors before you even hit Bowl games. The fact that we can play SEC competition before you even get to the Bowl game, it’s crucial and I think it allows teams to play at a fair advantage. You see similar teams that your team’s going against. How are you supposed to prepare for an SEC team when you don’t play nobody who played the SEC team besides the Bowl game? So I think it’s a cool thing they added, man.”

Micah Parsons has a lot of love for Raising Cane’s

This season, Penn State will play USC, UCLA and Washington, three teams that were previously in the Pac-12. During his time at Penn State, Parsons was named Big Ten Linebacker of the Year and 2019 after registering 109 tackles, five sacks and four forced fumbles.

Raising Cane’s

Parsons was at the Raising Cane’s Post Malone x Dallas Cowboys restaurant in Dallas to work a “shift” during his day off. The three-time Pro Bowler served over 100 Cowboys fans while filming different commercials. Parsons also spoke to the fans to get them excited about the rest of the season.

“My first time trying Cane’s was in Austin and I was immediately hooked and started going every day. My favorite thing about Raising Cane’s is the Caniac Combo and Cane’s Sauce, which I would describe as a touchdown!” Parsons said. “This Cowboys Restaurant is dope and Post Malone is awesome, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. I want to bring Trevon [Diggs] here!”
