Micah Parsons reports to Dallas Cowboys voluntary workouts amid rumors of potential holdout

Some have theorized Micah Parsons will hold out for an extension ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Evidently, that won’t be the case — at least not at the moment for the Cowboys star defender.
The franchise’s social media team spoiled Parsons’ arrival at voluntary workouts for Dallas on Monday, signaling that he’s ready, willing and able to contribute. Check out the video below, as Parsons is shown participating in the team’s video content. That isn’t the face of a man holding out at the moment.
Of course, much can change over the next few months, and Parsons could change his mind as the spring and summer progresses. Still, it’s significant that he’s in the building now, and there’s no signs of him disappearing ahead of a pivotal 2025 campaign for the franchise.
Moving forward, Dallas hasn’t always been a team to rush to extend their own players, but it usually does get done. Last offseason saw them wait until seemingly the last possible moments with the contract extensions of CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott.
In the case of Prescott, the Cowboys did not announce the deal until just before kickoff of their Week 1 game in Cleveland. Many have theorized something similar could play out with Parsons.
Jerry Jones has stated he senses no urgency to get the Parsons deal done anytime soon. He wants to get everything right rather than potentially accelerate the timeline and mess something up.

Even so, ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes Parsons will have his fresh contract before Dallas begins the 2025 season. He says too much money is at stake for Parsons to be playing football without one, leading the two sides to an eventual agreement.
“I would say that, eventually, both sides will figure out that deal and get it done,” Schefter said via Shan & RJ on Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan. “That would be my guess. There’s so much money involved and Dallas is going to want to keep him, he’s going to want to stay.
“When you’re talking about $40+ million a year, or whatever the number is, why are you ever stepping foot on a football field until that deal is done? To me, they’ll figure out a way to get that deal done because the stakes are just too great not to.”
Evidently, Micah Parsons has faith that a deal will get done in Dallas, and he doesn’t want to miss any time with his team in the meantime. It’s a matter of when, not if for the star defender and the Cowboys, it seems.
