Cowboys fans collectively held their breath on Saturday after Micah Parsons pulled up with an injury. He was seen running around the practice field in some pain, grabbing his wrist. Not something you want to see from a potential Defensive Player of the Year candidate, especially this early in training camp.

Parsons addressed the injury later in the day, saying it was a “stupid” move by him. Thankfully for Dallas, it appears to be nothing too serious and the EDGE will wind up being okay. A huge sigh of relief as actual football games are getting ready to be played.

“Yeah, I was just being stupid and just jammed my joint,” Parsons said via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I’m pretty fine though, nothing too serious right there.”

The injury occurred while Parsons was going through a drill. Dallas was focusing on attempting to force turnovers, with every player attempting to punch a ball free. Once Parsons made contact, he instantly knew something was up.

Parsons was also wearing boxing gloves, something that was thought to help prevent an injury.

Thus far in his career, Parsons has been able to avoid injury. He has not missed any of the 33 possible regular season games throughout his two-year career. Parsons likely does not want to be missing any time either with his mindset.

Parsons seemingly avoided a crisis and claims to be okay. It would likely be a safe bet to assume he will be prepared to play in the Cowboys’ season opener against the New York Giants on Sept. 10 on Sunday Night Football.

Micah Parsons looking to go down as all-time great

Everyone involved with the Dallas Cowboys enjoyed Hall of Fame weekend, with former player Demarcus Ware getting inducted. It sparked questions to Parsons asking about his potential legacy. He wants to go down as one of the greatest players to ever do it — a lofty goal.

“I don’t think I just want to make the Hall of Fame, I want to be known as one of the greatest Hall of Famers,” Parsons said. “There’s categories to everything. There’s good, there’s great, and there’s perfect. … I don’t want to just be mentioned in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, that’s a great accolade, but I want to be one of the greatest in the Hall of Fame.”
