With apologies to the 76ers and Flyers, the Eagles and Phillies are the talk of the town in Philadelphia right now. The Phillies look to be in control of the NLCS while the Eagles are looking to return to the Super Bowl this season, and after a 5-1 start, that seems pretty reasonable.

Part of what has made the Phillies so popular within Philadelphia, besides their success, is the atmosphere at Citizen’s Bank Park. In just the last two seasons, it’s quickly become regarded as one of the best if not the best home crowds in all of MLB.

Naturally, a few Eagles wanted to check out the situation at Citizens Bank Park. That included D’Andre Swift and Terrell Edmunds who had insane reactions to a Phillies playoff game. You can check that out, here:

Both Eagles players were mic’d up and had some pretty good seats behind home plate for the game. It was both of their first game, and they ended up choosing a really great one for Philadelphia in the NLCS. They weren’t the only ones, though, with people like the Kelce brothers and Dawn Staley showing up for the series.

“I want to see a home run, not right now, though,” Swift said with Arizona batting. “Not right now.”

The two shared their knowledge of baseball, which didn’t seem like it was all that extensive. However, given their status as NFL players, they didn’t recognize and respect how long the MLB season is and how much players need to travel.

When Kyle Schwarber came to the plate, it felt like there was a good chance he’d make something happen, and that’s exactly what happened, as he hit one of three home runs that he had in the first two games of the NLCS.

“He look like he about to damage, though,” Edmunds said. Schwarber, of course, did do damage and Swift got to see his home run. There would be more, though, with the Phillies continuing to his bombs these playoffs.

As the game went on, the Eagles started to notice a few more details about the game. For instance, just how hard the pitchers were throwing and that there was a bat boy to collect equipment and bring balls to the umpire. Also, that they should call the umpire “ump” instead of “ref.”

At the end of the day, it seems like they had a good time, and just like most people who have had a chance to experience a Phillies playoff game, both of them seemed to love the atmosphere.

“I didn’t know baseball was a vibe like this, though…I gotta come back to one of these,” Edmunds said.

Security guard demolishes fan who interrupted Phillies game

At one point, a fan decided to interrupt the Phillies game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS. There was clearly a security guard who took this personally, absolutely demolishing the fan with a perfect form tackle.

Check out that tackle here:

It really is a beautiful hit and it doesn’t hurt that plenty of Eagles were there to see the game too.

Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time a fan has ever gone viral in Philadelphia for running on the field at a Phillies game. The most famous being the fan who had a taser used on them while they were running from security, which in turn ended with fans calling for the taser in the future.
