Michigan LB Michael Barrett declares for 2024 NFL Draft
Michigan linebacker Michael Barrett has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Barrett spent six seasons with the Wolverines, making 62 total appearances and 33 starts. In the 2023 campaign, Barrett tallied 65 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two passes defended and three forced fumbles. He appeared in all 15 of Michigan’s games.
Barrett’s 2022 season was even more impressive. The 6-foot, 240-pound LB finished the year with a career-high 72 tackles, five tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions. For his efforts, Barrett was an All-Big Ten selection in 2022 and 2023.
Additionally, Barrett was named the team’s Most Improved Player on Defense in his fifth year. Earlier this season, Barrett discussed witnessing Michigan grow during his tenure.
“It’s amazing,” Barrett said. “Just kind of seeing, just being a part of the ups and downs, being here for the lows and watching the upturn, it’s been a great experience to be a part of it. It’s just kind of experience. See the ins and outs and the highs and lows.”
Barrett played high school football at Lowndes (Ga.) , where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 748 overall recruit in the 2018 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.
The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.
