Samson Nacua had his best game so far this season yesterday in the UFL. It ended with a headline off the field, though, in Saint Louis.

Following the game, Nacua got into an argument with a fan in the stands. That led to him slapping the fan, with an audible smack across the person’s face, before walking back towards the field.

Nacua is in his second season with the Michigan Panthers. He has posted 18 catches for 241 yards, good for 13.4 per catch, and a touchdown over a dozen appearances now for the franchise in the United Football League. That includes 116 yards, at a 16.6 average, from seven receptions with the receiving score this season.

On Saturday against the Battlehawks, Nacua caught three passes for 46 yards. He was the third-leading receiver in the game in what was a 32-27 loss for Michigan.

Nacua played five seasons in college with four at Utah and one at BYU. He has also been signed at points with a pair of franchises in the NFL in the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints. He has played with the Pittsburgh Maulers as well for a few games previously in the UFL.

Nacua is the older brother of Puka Nacua, the wide receiver of the Los Angeles Rams. The two of them played together for one season in Provo in 2021. Since then, Puka Nacua has gone on to be a Pro Bowl and All-Pro level receiver in the league with 184 receptions for 2,476 yards and nine touchdowns through a pair of seasons in Los Angeles.

There’s no telling what that fan may have said to lead to this reaction by Nacua. Still, it wasn’t the best look for him after the loss, especially once it went from verbal to physical.

2025 NFL Free Agency: Puka Nacua reveals new number after Rams’ signing of Davante Adams

When the Los Angeles Rams signed Davante Adams this offseason, they brought in another receiver to play alongside Puka Nacua. But, there was one big question of who would wear No. 17.

Adams has worn 17 throughout his career, starting with the Green Bay Packers and continuing with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets. Nacua wore the number through his two seasons with the Rams as he has burst onto the scene in the league.

As it turns out, Adams will be keeping the number. Nacua will be switching to No. 12, he announced.

“Having watched my other siblings wear it, this is my opportunity to put on the special number 12,” Nacua told theRams.com’s Stu Jackson.
