Report: Brooklyn Nets to trade Mikal Bridges to New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, slew of picks
The Brooklyn Nets are trading Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported. In return, the Knicks are sending Bojan Bogdanovic and a host of draft capital.
As part of the deal, Brooklyn is landing six picks and a pick swap. The trade package includes four unprotected first-rounders, a protected first-rounder via the Milwaukee Bucks, a second round pick and an unprotected pick swap.
Bridges will now be the latest former Villanova star to join the Knicks. The franchise already had Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson on board, as well as Donte DiVincenzo. It’s safe to say, they’re pretty excited, too.
Mikal Bridges appeared in all 82 games this year for the Nets, his first full season with the franchise after coming over in the Kevin Durant blockbuster trade last year. He averaged 19.7 points as he cemented himself as a key piece for Brooklyn. But by trading him to New York, the Nets are capitalizing on the opportunity presented by that initial trade.
Phoenix sent Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected first round picks to Brooklyn in exchange for Durant and TJ Warren. But by sending Bridges to the Knicks, the Nets now add four more unprotected picks, as well as the first-rounder from Milwaukee, the second-rounder and a pick swap.

But the Bridges trade didn’t change the fact that Brooklyn doesn’t have a pick in this week’s NBA Draft. However, the Nets are pretty well set up for the future.
Wojnarowski reported the Nets also orchestrated a deal to return their 2026 first-round pick via a trade with the Houston Rockets, in exchange for a 2027 Suns first-round pick. The Rockets also got the right to swap the Houston/Oklahoma City Thunder first-round pick for the Suns’ 2025 first-round pick.
This also means Brooklyn is looking at a rebuild with Wednesday’s first round quickly approaching from Barclays Center. It’s safe to say, the movement isn’t stopping anytime soon.
The 2024 NBA Draft will start June 26 as the league moves to a two-day setup. Round 1 will take place on June 26 from Barclays Center and Round 2 will follow on June 27 from ESPN’s seaport studios in New York. Then, the calendar will turn to free agency, and the negotiating period starts Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. But even before players can sign, the trades are flying – and it’s shaping up to be an interesting week around the association.
