In the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 41-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to leave the game. On Tuesday, Buccaneers senior writer Scott Smith provided an update on Evans’ condition.

“Todd Bowles said WR Mike Evans’ hamstring injury is ‘moderate’ but it will likely keep him out until after the Week 11 bye,” Smith wrote on X.

The Buccaneers don’t have their Week 11 bye for another three weeks. Evans’ absence would be a significant loss for the Buccaneers. He is the team’s second-leading receiver this season, boasting 26 receptions for 335 yards and a team-high six touchdowns.

The only Buccaneer who has more receiving yards than Evans in the 2024 campaign is Chris Godwin, who suffered a dislocated ankle against the Ravens and will miss the remainder of the season.

Evans’ hamstring injury first developed in the Buccaneers’ Week 6 win over the New Orleans Saints. Evans was questionable in the week leading up to the game against the Ravens but was ultimately given the green light to play.

The 31-year-old reaggravated his hamstring after dropping a would-be touchdown with 7:31 remaining in the second quarter. Evans immediately grabbed his right hamstring and appeared to be in significant pain in the back of the end zone.

More on Chris Godwin’s injury

Godwin, 28, was carted off the field with 43 seconds remaining on Tampa Bay’s final offensive drive of the game after suffering a leg injury too gruesome for the ESPN broadcast to show.

The injury occurred when the Buccaneers were down by 10 in the waning seconds of the game. He came down with a completion on third-and-17 and was tackled by Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith. Godwin’s ankle rolled up underneath him as Smith brought him to the ground.

Godwin, who has spent all of his seven-year NFL career with the Buccaneers, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after the season. The 2019 Pro Bowler previously tore his ACL in December 2021 in a game against the New Orleans Saints (2-5).
