Mike McCarthy reacts to concerning CeeDee Lamb news ahead of Texans matchup
Eyebrows in Dallas were raised on Saturday as wide receiver CeeDee Lamb popped up on the injury report. Lamb is officially listed as questionable as a back problem is currently bothering him. The Cowboys face Houston on Monday Night Football, a big game for both teams.
There is good news regarding the injury, though. Head coach Mike McCarthy does not seem too concerned about taking the field without Lamb. McCarthy said the injury came to fruition during a seven-on-seven period.
“He had something pop up in a 7-on-7 drill,” McCarthy said. “We’ll look at him tomorrow, but I’m not of high concern.”
Seeing Lamb pop up on the report could have caused some concern. However, McCarthy not being worried should bring a sigh of relief from Cowboys fans. Based on his words, Lamb should be good to get out on the field.
Dallas is in the middle of a four-game losing streak and will be without Dak Prescott moving forward. Lamb will catch his passes from Cooper Rush for the rest of the season. Thankfully, there is some familiarity between the two due to previous Prescott injuries.

While the injury was not big enough to place on the injury report, Lamb was dealing with some pain in his shoulder recently. A couple of weeks ago against Atlanta was where it was most obvious, visibly showing the discomfort he was in. Last week against Philadelphia did not appear to be as bad but enough to worry about.
Despite the Cowboys not having a great season, Lamb is still putting up good numbers. Nine games played have resulted in 59 receptions for 681 yards and four touchdowns. The first two stats are good enough to place him inside the top 10 in the NFL.
Lamb is hoping to add to those against Houston, wanting to have another big-time performance on Monday Night Football. But before getting there, making sure the back is healthy will be the wide receiver’s top priority.
