Mike Tomlin updates Steelers injuries following Raiders win
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary was a little banged up after Saturday night’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders. After the 13-10 win, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that both CB Tre Norwood (hamstring) and S Marcus Allen (bicep) were shaken up during the game.
Norwood and Allen combined for only three of the Steelers’ 58 total tackles on the night. Norwood left the game in the first half and was deemed questionable to return but never did. He was already filling in for the injury Terrell Edmonds as strong safety. Allen is dealing with a nagging bicep issue that will be evaluated early next week.
Tomlin chalked the rest of the team’s injuries to your routine bumps and bruises.
The win over Las Vegas propelled Pittsburgh to 7-8 on the season and are firmly in the hunt for a wild card playoff spot. They’re going to need the Chargers (8-6) and Dolphins (8-7) to drop games during the final couple weeks of the season to sneak into the postseason, but their playoff headache doesn’t end with those two teams.
The Steelers are one of four teams with a 7-8 record in the AFC vying for a wild card playoff spot. The Patriots, Jets, and Titans are in the same position as Pittsburgh, but the Steelers remain in the fourth spot out of all of them thanks to a poor conference record (3-7).

Technically the Jaguars also hold the same record as the four aforementioned teams, but Jacksonville has the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Tennessee Titans as AFC South divisional leaders.
Now, the Steelers will head to Baltimore as they get ready to take on the Ravens on New Year’s Day for Sunday Night Football. Kickoff between the Steelers and Ravens is set for 8:20 p.m. ET live on NBC. Baltimore have opened as four-point favorites.
