The Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight has been postponed following a medical emergency for the former Heavyweight boxing champion. Tyson had a flare-up of his ulcers and has been instructed by doctors to take it easy.

The fight was originally scheduled for July 20th, airing live on Netflix. Now, things are going to be pushed back. How far remains to be seen. According to a press release, Tyson will need a few weeks to recover.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will fight, at least that is still the plan. The makeup date for the fight has not been announced yet.

The fight, which is set to take place in AT&T Stadium, is highly anticipated. Mostly for how wild this matchup is. Jake Paul is 27 years old and has faced heavy criticism for fighting non-boxers and many times, older athletes than himself.

Mike Tyson, 57, has all of the credentials. But at this point in his life and career, what is there to gain? Tyson last fought in an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr., which was on a Jake Paul fight card. Now he is set to face the former YouTube star in the ring himself.

Following a scary medical situation on an airplane last week, Tyson will have to take time to recover. If this fight does happen, many believe that the 57-year-old will give the young upstart fighter a real fight.

As Toby Keith used to sing, I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was. That is all Tyson needs in order to beat Jake Paul – be just as good one more time.

Mike Tyson taking advice of his doctors

Despite suffering a flare-up with his ulcers, Mike Tyson is still determined to go through with the fight. At this point, he is the one with nothing to lose. Yes, he’s the former Heavyweight champion, he has the accolades, is a living legend – but he is 57.

It is Jake Paul, the young man, who has everything to lose and little to gain. Even if he does defeat Tyson, and he very well may do that, it won’t be a good look. With the ulcers causing the fight to be pushed back, it does more damage to Paul’s case here.

You lose, you lost to a 57-year-old man with ulcers. If you win, you just beat up a 57-year-old man with ulcers. Little to nothing to gain from the experience, other than internet clicks and clout, which very well may be the goal here.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are going to fight, but it won’t be July 20. Perhaps a fight in late August or early September will be put into the works. Then again, AT&T Stadium will be ready for football season by that time. Better get this fight in sooner rather than later.
