As seismic shifts continue to take place on the NFL trade market, a name that’s come up in multiple rumors is Titans star wide receiver A.J. Brown. The former Ole Miss star has made a name for himself since coming into the league, as Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel has led Brown and the Titans to become one of the best teams in the entire AFC.

However, if the trades involving stars like Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill proved anything, no one is off limits. In an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Vrabel responded to the rumors surrounding the Titans trading Brown.

“We have conversations, and I have a relationship with everybody on our team. You know, some are better than others. I do think that there is a personal side to it, but then there’s also a coach side of it, as well,” stated Vrabel. “I think that there’s a wide-range of emotions and relationships, I think I try to do a good job of doing both. And trying to make a connection with them. But also making everyone realize what the business ultimately is.”

As you can see, Vrabel stated that while there’s no imminent trades regarding Brown, he tries to make players understands both sides of the coin. The balancing act is one that Vrabel has a unique perspective on, as a former player with the New England Patriots.

This offseason, the Titans have released wide receiver Julio Jones, and traded for wide receiver Robert Woods from the Los Angeles Rams. Time will tell if Tennessee decides it’s time to move A.J. Brown, or if they keep the former Ole Miss star.

Mike Vrabel on what makes Derrick Henry special: ‘Just not too many guys walking around, carrying the ball as many times as he does that look like him.’

Mike Vrabel has elevated the Tennessee Titans into one of the best teams in the entire AFC over the course of his coaching tenure. Luckily, he’s had a superstar running back leading the way, with former Alabama star Derrick Henry carrying the football.

In an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Vrabel elaborated on what makes Henry such a special player.

“He’s very unique,” responded Vrabel. “Just not too many guys walking around, carrying the ball as many times as he does that look like him. So, I think from that perspective, it is difficult to tackle him. When he is in the second level, third level because of how he builds speed. How proficient he’s got with his stiff arm, and his ability to take care of the ball and do all that.

“You know, we put a lot on him. I feel like he does get better with more carries, and has an impact in the football game. So, he means a lot to us. He knows that. And we try to put the run game around that, and what his style is.”

In an age where the NFL has moved towards favoring quarterbacks, the Titans have relied on Henry to carry their offense. He’s done just that, being a reliable work-horse for the team throughout his time in Tennessee.

Evidently, Mike Vrabel doesn’t expect Derrick Henry to change in 2022. While the former Alabama star dealt with injuries last season, the Titans will have no worries handing him the football when September rolls around.
