Mike Williams helped off field after brutal injury, unable to put weight on leg
Los Angeles Chargers star receiver Mike Williams suffered an injury against the Seattle Seahawks and needed help off the field. Williams caught a pass while defended, and as the pair of players went to the ground Williams’ foot was pinned underneath the defender’s body awkwardly.
Replay showed the moment of the injury, with a clear view of the ankle being pinned almost in the reverse direction for a moment as Williams spun over Mike Jackson’s body in the tackle.
Warning: The following replay contains footage of physical injury.
After suffering the painful-looking injury, Williams needed assistance off the field — unable to put any weight on his right leg as he limped to the sideline.
Williams had his best NFL season last year as he recorded career highs in receptions (76), targets (129) and yards (1,146). In addition to his increased usage in the offense, Williams grabbed nine touchdowns and was one away from matching his career high of 10 receiving touchdowns set in 2018.

The Chargers selected the former Clemson star receiver with the seventh-overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has pulled in 28 total touchdowns through his professional career so far.
During the offseason Williams signed a major three-year extension with the Chargers worth $60 million, securing him as one of the best weapons Justin Herbert has.
The Chargers did not provide an immediate update on Williams after the game, simply indicating that the injury was an ankle injury. Williams currently has a team-high 495 receiving yards on the season and three touchdowns on 37 catches this year.
