The Milwaukee Bucks did not have much at stake during the final day of the NBA regular season, already clinching their spot in the playoffs. At best, they could move up in the standings to acquire a more favorable matchup in the first round. However, guard Jrue Holiday was excited for the matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, having a financial interest.

Holiday needed to play in 67 games this season to reach a bonus on his contract. To accomplish that goal, he was named a Milwaukee starter and played for a total of eight seconds. After Cleveland won the tip, Holiday quickly intentionally fouled someone before checking out of the contest. His total playtime? Eight seconds.

With the accomplishment, Holiday earned a $306,000 bonus. A nice addition to the bank account before the playoffs begin.

You can watch the full moment here.

Holiday and the Bucks will be looking to defend their NBA championship but ended up losing on Sunday to Cleveland. Their opponent in the first round is yet to be known, with a couple of potential tiebreakers needing to be sorted out between them, the Boston Celtics, and the Philadelphia 76ers. If they earn the two seed, Milwaukee will face off against the winner of the Eastern Conference play-in game.

Playing in 67 games, Holiday is going to average just under 19 points per game, adding 4.6 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. He signed a huge contract with the Bucks that began this season, earning $134.9 million over four years. Of course, bonuses are involved, with one of them taking place on Sunday afternoon.

The playoffs will now be on Holiday’s mind, not earning some extra money for playing in games. With how loaded the Eastern Conference is, it’s going to be a tough road, no matter what round they play in. Holiday is going to play a huge role throughout.
