Report: Vikings, Raiders express interest in free agent Ndamukong Suh

With training camp fast approaching, interest is building for Ndamukong Suh. Two teams have had discussions — and another is out of the picture.

The Cleveland Browns are out of the running for the former Nebraska star, but the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders have had conversations about adding him, according to The Orange and Brown Report’s Brad Stainbrook. Suh played the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before entering free agency.

The clock is ticking on a potential decision for Suh as training camps get started later this month. Last year with Tampa Bay, he had 27 tackles and 6.0 sacks to help the Buccaneers to a 13-4 record in what turned out to be Bruce Arians’ last season at the helm.

The Detroit Lions drafted Suh as the No. 2 overall pick out of Nebraska in the 2010 NFL Draft and he made an immediate impact, winning AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2010. He also has five All-Pro and five Pro Bowl selections to his name during his NFL career. During his 12-year career, which has also included stops with the Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins, Suh has 590 total tackles, 70.5 sacks and 130 tackles for loss.

It’s been an offseason of change in Tampa Bay after Arians stepped away and defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is replacing him. That means Tom Brady will likely work closely with Byron Leftwich to build and run the offense. However, there were rumors about the relationship between Brady and Arians, especially toward the end, and how that impact Brady’s initial decision to retire. In fact, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported Arians’ move to the front office played a role in Brady’s decision to come back for another year.

In addition, Rob Gronkowski is out of the picture after announcing his second retirement from the NFL. That means there’s sure to be plenty of intrigue around Tampa Bay, especially once the year ends since Brady has a deal lined up with FOX once he retires.
