Minnesota Vikings select LSU offensive lineman Ed Ingram in 2022 NFL Draft
Ed Ingram helped anchor the LSU offensive line over the last four years. Now, he’s taking his skills to the next level.
The Minnesota Vikings selected Ingram as the No. 59 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. A four-year starter at LSU, Ingram received second-team All-SEC honors after his senior season and got an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
Ingram primarily played left guard in 2021 and started in 11 games. In fact, he played every snap of the last nine games he played, meaning he’s durable — and that’s an asset that could be valuable at the next level.
Out of high school, Ingram was a four-star recruit and the No. 15 interior offensive lineman recruit in the nation from the class of 2017, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Ed Ingram
In the weeks leading up to the draft, Ingram wasn’t projected to be a first-round pick in any mock drafts. However, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein said that might not decrease his impact because of his ability to keep the pocket clean.
“Guard prospect with an up-and-down 2021 that muddies his evaluation headed into this year’s draft,” Zierlein wrote. “Ingram’s run blocking is a notch below his pass protection and might not be an area where he improves enough as a pro. He lacks prototypical girth and bend for leverage and power at the point of attack, and his motor to sustain blocks is inconsistent.
“However, teams with patchy pass protection along their interior could bump Ingram up their board due to his consistent work in protecting the pocket. Ingram’s physical and play profiles are a bit mismatched, which could have him drifting between starter and backup during his career.”
