Minnesota Vikings update the status of Lewis Cine after devastating injury in London

After suffering a gruesome lower-leg injury Sunday morning, Lewis Cine was taken to a local London, hospital NFL Network sideline reporter Stacey Dales announced, and gave a full update on the Minnesota Vikings rookie linebacker.

“Kevin O’Connell on Lewis Cine, says he has a lower leg fracture. Devastating blow for the rookie who was taken to the hospital immediately. He’ll be having surgery here in London – medical team will stay with him until he’s ready to make the transition back to Minnesota,” Dales tweeted.

Cine was been transported to a local hospital in London after suffering what looked to be a serious lower-leg injury. The former Georgia star was running in the open field against the New Orleans Saints Sunday morning when his ankle seemingly snapped mid-play.

Cardinals defensive end JJ Watt reveals he had a cardiac event this week requiring medical attention

JJ Watt revealed he had to have his heart shocked back into rhythm Thursday. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year made the announcement after he caught wind that the news was to be leaked ahead of the Cardinals matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

“I was just told somebody leaked some personal information about me and it’s going to be reported on today. I went into A-Fib on Wednesday, had my heart shocked back into rhythm on Thursday and I’m playing today,” Watt’s tweet read. “That’s it.”

A-Fib, or atrial fibrillation, is an irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots in the heart. The condition increases the risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Watt is planning to play, and his status will surely be monitored throughout Sunday’s game. Kickoff between the Cardinals and Panthers is set for 4:05 p.m. ET live from Charlotte.
