Mississippi State is set to host UMass in the second of three games against SEC foes for the Minutemen. Yet it will only be the first one away from home for UMass.

Regardless, the Bulldogs are still heavy favorites to win, projected as 17.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel. The over under is set at 58.5 points.

So after falling to Missouri at home, it’s unlikely UMass is set to pick up an SEC win on Saturday, even against a Mississippi State team that’s at the bottom of the league.

“Again, the confidence level for me is not just the defense,” Lebby said. “It’s the fact we have the ability, offensively, where you create some momentum and energy for the other side of the ball. It is team all the way around. There’s frustration in how we played today, defensively. There’s great disappointment in how we played today. But I’m not going to look at it just inside these four quarters. Again, we made great improvement and had played better and better. Today we didn’t. We’ll go back and look at it and fight out butts off to fix it.”

Lebby was also left frustrated by his team’s defensive performance after seemingly having made progress in recent weeks.

“Again, the frustrating part today is we had made such improvement,” Lebby said. “We had played better and better. We had played some really good units and done some things to give us a chance to win games. Then today, we did and took a step back. For me, I think at the end of the day, continuing to get the most of whoever is on the field. Banged up? Yes. Missing some guys and need some guys back? Yes. But the guys we put out there, we’ve got to find a way to get the absolute most out of them every single snap.”
