MLB legend David Ortiz rides with Brad Keselowski on the wall at Homestead-Miami

A little bit of baseball and NASCAR synergy today at Homestead-Miami Speedway. David Ortiz took a ride with Brad Keselowski. I’m sure the RFK Racing owner and driver was telling Ortiz all about how he won the championship at the track in 2012.
Taking someone new for a ride around Homestead-Miami Speedway has to be so fun for NASCAR drivers. You get to see what normal people think of what you do for hundreds of miles every weekend.
This season, Major League Baseball will host the Speedway Classic. Bristol Motor Speedway is hosting a game between the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves. It will be until any game before.
To get a taste of NASCAR before NASCAR gets a taste of baseball, Ortiz had a first-hand experience. Looks like Brad Keselowski showed him around and they both lived to tell the story.
These NASCAR Racing Experiences are great. It is the best way to show someone new to the sport what it is all about. Puts them right in the middle of everything. The speed, the sounds, the smells – straight to the bloodstream.
What a perfect track to do it at, too. The wall is where the speed is and that’s also where the passenger sits in these two-seater cars. Brad Keselowski probably avoided getting too close, but enough to get a reaction from the Hall of Famer.

Brad Keselowski needs a good race this weekend
This season has not gone well for Brad Keselowski. In fact, he has no top-10 finishes in the first five races of the season for the first time since his second full-time season in the Cup Series.
Now, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In 2011, the last time he had a slow start like this, he went on to win multiple races. That year ended with three wins, a pole award and a 5th place finish in the postseason. Pretty good for a young Keselowski.
However, that was with a car that has been long gone. This Next Gen car is a completely new beast. It demands different things from drivers and teams. So, it might not be as easy to turn things around as it was in 2011. Still, if you are a Keselowski fan, you can talk yourself into not panicking yet.
Brad Keselowski won last year at Darlington. It was a close one, though. With Jeremy Bullins joining this team as crew chief this year, reuniting with Keselowski, there is an expectation that they can get it together. Early on, things aren’t looking great.
