Jets second-year running back Breece Hall, making his way back from a torn ACL last season, is ACTIVE and will play in the season opener. His status had been in question, with New York keeping its plans for him close to the vest. He is expected to share time in the backfield with the newly-signed Dalvin Cook.
“We have a plan,” head coach Robert Saleh said this past week, via ESPN. “I’m not going to talk about it here, but there’s going to be a constant communication because what the plan is can be more, can be less, but we have an idea of what we want to get done. He has an idea of what he’d like to accomplish. But at the same time, communication — constantly checking in to see where he’s at, physically and mentally — is going to be key.”

The most notable absence for New York is Carl Lawson, who compiled 7.0 sacks in his first season with the team in 2022. While not on the final injury report, Lawson missed majority of training camp with a back injury and just recently returned. The Jets are playing it safe with their veteran pass rusher and holding him out for at least Week 1.
Bills to sit Damar Hamlin for Week 1 against New York Jets on Monday Night Football
The Bills, meanwhile, are going into “Monday Night Football” without safety Damar Hamlin. Hamlin, who suffered a cardiac arrest during Week 17 last season, is healthy, but Buffalo is playing it safe for now.
Perhaps more surprising is that Kaiir Elam, Buffalo’s first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, is a healthy scratch. Elam featured in 13 games (six starts) last season, recording 41 tackles (29 solo) and two interceptions.
