Multiple NFL teams inquired about Bill Belichick and whether he’d reconsider his move to college football, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

“Multiple NFL teams have inquired about whether legendary coach Bill Belichick would reconsider his move to college football — including the Las Vegas Raiders, whose new minority owner Tom Brady spoke recently with his old coach about what it would take to make a reunion happen in Las Vegas, per sources,” Pelissero wrote.

Belichick signed a five-year contract to become North Carolina’s head coach back on December 11th. The interesting note is Pelissero reported Brady spoke with Belichick and his interest.

The Raiders fired head coach Antonio Pierce after a 4-13 season. Brady, who has a minority stake of ownership in Las Vegas, is expected to have quite the presence in the coaching search.

That’s in conjunction with his broadcasting role at FOX. Belichick’s buyout at North Carolina is $10 million if he leaves prior to June 1. However, it drops to $1 million afterwards.

Granted, leaving UNC in the summer and joining an NFL franchise post-free agency and the NFL Draft would be questionable to say the least, as far as a competitive standpoint.

As Pelissero pointed out, Belichick’s buyout is unclear if he were to leave for the NFL in the coming weeks. The report did not specify what other team continued to check in on Belichick’s status.

However, Pelissero noted the Jacksonville Jaguars could be an alluring destination for the Tar Heels head coach.

As it stands right now, Belichick is hitting the recruiting trail, the transfer portal and filling out his staff. He’s reportedly targeting IMG Academy head coach Billy Miller for a spot on the coaching staff.

Miller has been with IMG Academy for over a decade now, becoming the program’s head coach ahead of the 2014 season. He was previously working in the NFL and was hired by Belichick and the New England Patriots to be a special teams coaching assistant. However, once IMG Academy called, Miller decided to jump to the high school ranks.

Tampa Bay was Miller’s last official job before leaving for IMG Academy. Working with the special teams unit is where he was placed at the time. Greg Schiano was the Buccanneers’ head coach when being hired, hiring him directly away from Rutgers.
