Cleveland Browns star EDGE rusher Myles Garrett officially requested a trade on Monday, releasing a statement outlining his request.

However, Cleveland has no intentions of trading him, according to multiple reports, including one from Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.

“Go back to the trading deadline, we reported that teams were interested in possibly trading for Garrett and the Browns were adamant they were not going to trade him. They were not going to entertain offers, and they didn’t at the time,” Garafolo said.

“My understanding is, despite this statement, the Browns are sticking to their stance and they do not intend to have any conversations or trade Garrett.”

It’s clear that Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns have differing opinions on where Garrett will be playing in 2025.

Myles Garrett is the reining NFL Defensive Player of the Year and has spent his entire career with the Browns. He was the No. 1 overall pick out of Texas A&M in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Garrett released a statement regarding his request and explained why he wants to leave the Browns organization. He shared that he wants to play for a franchise that can win a Super Bowl.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl – and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” Garrett said in a statement. “My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”
