Myles Jack is getting used to his new home in Pittsburgh, but he’s ready to bring his immense talent to the Steelers.

Earlier this offseason, inked Jack to a two-year, $16 million deal to bolster their linebacking corps. In an interview with Steelers Live on Twitter, the former UCLA star gave his initial thoughts on signing with Pittsburgh after spending the beginning of his career with the Jaguars.

“The whole uncomfortable thing was just, I had been in Jacksonville for six years. So, I didn’t know any other organization. I didn’t know any other way,” Jack said, regarding getting used to Pittsburgh. “So, coming here, it’s a new culture. New everything. But it’s been for the better for me. I enjoy coming to work every day. It’s been great. So, that uncomfortableness is just learning a new system, new team, getting acclimated, figuring out a new city, moving, all that type of stuff. It’s been fun though, it’s been great.”

Moreover, Jack revealed what the biggest difference has been between his first NFL stop and the Steelers.

“The culture, man,” responded the former UCLA star. “That’s what people always say, but coming from where I came from and coming here, you see why this team is successful. The mission’s clear. There’s no secrets. If there’s a problem, it gets addressed right then and there. I feel like that’s the only way you get to win, if everybody is held accountable. I’ve enjoyed it, it’s been great.”

The Jaguars drafted Jack out of UCLA with the No. 36 overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. This past season, he had 108 total tackles — including 62 solo tackles. But in his career, he has 513 combined tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, three interceptions, 15 passes defended, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns.

Now, Myles Jack is enjoying getting acclimated to the Steelers, where he has a fantastic chance to revitalize his NFL career.

More on Myles Jack, Pittsburgh Steelers

In six seasons with the Jaguars, Jack has totaled 513 combined tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, three interceptions, 15 passes defended, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two defensive touchdowns. This past season, Jack led the Jaguars with 108 tackles, and he also posted three tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.

In September 2019, the Jaguars signed Jack to a four-year, $57 million contract extension. However, he hit the free agent market a little earlier than he anticipated. He had a line of suitors on the open market, but the Steelers were able to convince him to join their franchise.

As for Jack’s former squad, the Jaguars were one of the NFL’s biggest spenders in free agency, as Jacksonville signed five different players to substantial contracts. In all likelihood, the spending spree, which involved signing another linebacker, likely played a role in Jack’s release.

One of the biggest deals of the offseason for the Jaguars was with former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Christian Kirk. Jacksonville signed Kirk to a four-year, $72 million deal that could be worth up to more than $80 million. The Jaguars also signed offensive guard Brandon Scherff to a three-year, $49.5 million deal and linebacker Foyesade Oluokun to a three-year, $45 million deal.

Additionally, the Jaguars signed wide receiver Zay Jones to a three-year, $24 million contract and tight end Evan Engram to a one-year, $9 million deal.
