The NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium just got a whole lot better with the addition of the Madhouse Classic Tour Type Modified race. This will serve as an undercard on Saturday, February 1, 2025, to Sunday’s Cup Series main event.

Bowman Gray will invite the top-20 in points to participate in the 125-lap event. This is the kind of action the Madhouse is used to seeing. These modified drivers are going to be excited to put on a major show.

The addition of this race gives local heroes a chance to shine. NASCAR is putting together a great event at Bowman Gray. During the weekend new and old fans are going to be delighted.

The modified division at Bowman Gray puts on a show every year. They are dedicated short-track racers. So, it is great that NASCAR is going to shine a bright light on these racers and teams.

“The sell-out of The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium speaks volumes about the monumental nature of the event at this historic venue,” said NASCAR’s Justin Swilling, Project Lead for the NASCAR Clash. “We’re honored to bring such an incredible race weekend to Winston-Salem that will provide an opportunity to place the stars of Bowman Gray Stadium’s Modified Division in the national spotlight.”

Before racing on Saturday, there will be practice and qualifying. The modified field will go through a practice session prior to single-car qualifying. 125 laps around Bowman Gray, or 31.25 miles.

Burt Myers closed up the 2024 Bowman Gray Modified division championship this season. It was his 11th track championship.

NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray sold out

For Sunday night’s Cup Series race, the Clash at Bowman Gray is sold out. NASCAR made that announcement today as well as the news of the modified race.

With a capacity of 17,000, the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium is sold out 69 days before the green flag drops. The Madhouse is going to be packed with the rowdiest, wildest, stock car racing fans North Carolina has to offer.

Bowman Gray Stadium has earned a reputation for fights and wrecks and other shenanigans. Could the quarter-mile race track produce the same fire in the Cup Series drivers?

While this is not the biggest stadium, NASCAR will put on one heck of a show at Bowman Gray. Already new lights, SAFER barriers, and other additions are being installed. When the crowd shows up for the Clash weekend, they will be treated to the new amenities.
