The regular season is ready to come to a close, as the NASCAR Cup Series returns to Darlington Raceway this weekend for the Cook Out Southern 500.

This weekend’s race is one of NASCAR’s most prestigious events, and trophy each wheelman would love to have on their mantle. Last season, Kyle Larson won the Southern 500, but Erik Jones has also conquered the track twice in the past five seasons. He could lock himself in the playoffs with a win on Sunday.

This is what it’ll all boil down to for the drivers near the cut-line, and each wheelman looking to shock the world and make the playoffs, like Harrison Burton did at Daytona. Ahead of Darlington, FanDuel Sportsbook provided the odds for the entire field to win. Check them out below.

Kyle Larson (+650)

Kyle Larson has certainly improved at tracks like Daytona, but he’s still found it difficult to close the deal. After getting caught up in an accident, the Hendrick Motorsports star finished P21 on Saturday evening.

After a string of runner-up finishes at Darlington, Larson finally broke through and won at the track last season. If he can make it back-to-back at The Lady in Black in the Southern 500, he has a shot to re-gain the regular season points lead he’s lost over the last couple of weeks.

Tyler Reddick (+700)

After his win at Michigan and getting to Victory Lane at Talladega earlier this season, Tyler Reddick was on the shortlist of potential winners at Daytona. However, it wasn’t meant to be, as Reddick came home P28 over the weekend.

A victory at Darlington has eluded Reddick over the course of his career, but he’s come close to getting a win at the track. The 23XI Racing wheelman has two runner-up finishes, and he almost captured the win in South Carolina in May.

Denny Hamlin (+700)

Denny Hamlin has had a rough go of things over the last week and change. First, he was hit with a major points penalty due to something out of his control, and then he was caught up in an accident at Daytona, which meant a P38 finish on Saturday.

This will be the 25th time Hamlin will attempt to tame Darlington. He’s done well in South Carolina in the past, as he’s won at the track four times, most recently in Sept. 2021.

Brad Keselowski (+1200)

Brad Keselowski has been hoping to get back to Victory Lane at Daytona, but he’s found it difficult over the last couple of seasons. Still, he was enthusiastic after Saturday’s race, as he finished P8 on the evening.

Earlier this season, Keselowski famously ended his drought at Darlington in May. It was his second win at the track, and he’ll be looking to go into the playoffs following a sweep in South Carolina over the weekend.

William Byron (+1200)

After winning the Daytona 500 in February, William Byron hoped to sweep the season at the track. He wasn’t able to close the deal, as the No. 24 came home P7 on Saturday, a disappointing evening for the Hendrick Motorsports star.

Byron has a win at Darlington, and it came in May of 2023. A fourth win could give him even more breathing room entering the playoffs, and a Southern 500 victory would mean the world to the Hendricks star if he’s able to get it done.

Martin Truex Jr. (+1300)

Martin Truex Jr. likely didn’t race for the final time at Daytona over the weekend, which is a good thing, because it would’ve ended his time at the track on a sour note. Even though he’s retiring from full-time competition, he’s preparing to race the 2025 Daytona 500, where he’ll hope to finish better than P24, where he came home on Saturday.

During his Cup Series career, Truex Jr. has raced at Darlington 24 times. The former NASCAR champion has two victories at the track, including a Southern 500 win back in 2016, when he was racing with Furniture Row Racing.

Ty Gibbs (+1400)

Ty Gibbs still doesn’t have a win in 2024, but he’s making a strong push towards the playoffs. He was right there at the end in Daytona, and the No. 54 wheelman was able to secure a P5 finish when the checkered flag waved, a fantastic result, all things considered.

The Joe Gibbs Racing wheelman has only tried his luck at Darlington four times, but he’s improved vastly over that period. In May, Gibbs finished as the runner-up at the track, so he’ll be looking to secure his spot in the playoffs on Sunday.

Christopher Bell (+1600)

Christopher Bell seems to have figured out how to get to the front at Daytona, even if he’s not always able to get to Victory Lane. He was right in the mix at the end of the Coke Zero Sugar 400, and he ended up on the podium due to his efforts.

Since becoming a full-time Cup Series wheelman, Bell has excelled at almost every type of track. Still, Darlington has proved challenging for the wheelman, as he only has two top ten finishes in ten tries in South Carolina.

NASCAR Cook Out Southern 500 betting lines continued:

  • Ryan Blaney (+2000)
  • Joey Logano (+2000)
  • Chris Buescher (+2000)
  • Ross Chastain (+2300)
  • Kyle Busch (+2400)
  • Chase Elliott (+2400)
  • Bubba Wallace (+2800)
  • Erik Jones (+3700)
  • Josh Berry (+5000)
  • Alex Bowman (+6500)
  • Noah Gragson (+7000)
  • Chase Briscoe (+7000)
  • Michael McDowell (+12000)
  • Shane Van Gisbergen (+13000)
  • Austin Cindric (+13000)
  • Daniel Suarez (+13000)
  • Todd Gilliland (+13000)
  • Austin Dillon (+15000)
  • Justin Haley (+24000)
  • Carson Hocevar (+24000)
  • John Hunter Nemechek (+24000)
  • Ryan Preece (+24000)
  • Corey Lajoie (+24000)
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+24000)
  • Kaz Grala (+50000)
  • Timmy Hill (+50000)
  • Daniel Hemric (+50000)
  • Zane Smith (+50000)
  • Harrison Burton (+50000)

It’s easy to see why Kyle Larson is the favorite at Darlington after his win last season. Perhaps he could regain the regular season points crown if he gets to Victory Lane. Regardless, it’ll be a tough race in South Carolina, as the best in NASCAR look to tame The Lady in Black.
