The betting lines for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship have been updated after a thrilling trip to Daytona International Speedway over the weekend.

In a war of attrition, a last-lap move from Harrison Burton shocked the racing world, as he overtook Kyle Busch and won his first career race. Now, the No. 21 wheelman will race for the championship, as he’s locked himself into the playoffs in a shocking turn of events.

As the calendar turns to Darlington this weekend, drivers like Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain are fighting for their playoff lives. The regular season finale is on the docket, and it should be a doozy. DraftKings Sportsbook provided the current betting lines for the Cup Series title before the fun begins.

Kyle Larson (+380)

Kyle Larson has certainly improved at tracks like Daytona, but he’s still found it difficult to close the deal. After getting caught up in an accident, the Hendrick Motorsports star finished P21 on Saturday evening.

After a string of runner-up finishes at Darlington, Larson finally broke through and won at the track last season. If he can make it back-to-back at The Lady in Black in the Southern 500, he has a shot to re-gain the regular season points lead he’s lost over the last couple of weeks.

Denny Hamlin (+380)

Denny Hamlin has had a rough go of things over the last week and change. First, he was hit with a major points penalty due to something out of his control, and then he was caught up in an accident at Daytona, which meant a P38 finish on Saturday.

This will be the 25th time Hamlin will attempt to tame Darlington. He’s done well in South Carolina in the past, as he’s won at the track four times, most recently in Sept. 2021.

Christopher Bell (+400)

Christopher Bell seems to have figured out how to get to the front at Daytona, even if he’s not always able to get to Victory Lane. He was right in the mix at the end of the Coke Zero Sugar 400, and he ended up on the podium due to his efforts.

Since becoming a full-time Cup Series wheelman, Bell has excelled at almost every type of track. Still, Darlington has proved challenging for the wheelman, as he only has two top ten finishes in ten tries in South Carolina.

Tyler Reddick (+600)

After his win at Michigan and getting to Victory Lane at Talladega earlier this season, Tyler Reddick was on the shortlist of potential winners at Daytona. However, it wasn’t meant to be, as Reddick came home P28 over the weekend.

A victory at Darlington has eluded Reddick over the course of his career, but he’s come close to getting a win at the track. The 23XI Racing wheelman has two runner-up finishes, and he almost captured the win in South Carolina in May.

William Byron (+650)

After winning the Daytona 500 in February, William Byron hoped to sweep the season at the track. He wasn’t able to close the deal, as the No. 24 came home P7 on Saturday, a disappointing evening for the Hendrick Motorsports star.

Byron has a win at Darlington, and it came in May of 2023. A fourth win could give him even more breathing room entering the playoffs, and a Southern 500 victory would mean the world to the Hendricks star if he’s able to get it done.

Ryan Blaney (+800)

Ryan Blaney is one of the top drivers when it comes to superspeedway racing, but it wasn’t meant to be on Saturday evening. The Penske Racing wheelman came home P29 in his sweet Advanced Auto Parts ride.

The reigning Cup Series champion is entering the playoffs as a serious contender to win another title, but he’s struggled in South Carolina. He finished P36 at the track earlier this season, and he’s never finished in the top five in 15 attempts in Darlington.

Chase Elliott (+1100)

Chase Elliott remains a popular choice to win each time NASCAR returns to Daytona, but he hasn’t been able to close the deal over his past couple of chances. A P36 finish wasn’t what he was hoping for on Saturday, but that’s where the No. 9 team finished in Florida.

This will be Elliott’s 16th attempt at taming The Lady in Black. Will this finally be the time he gets to Victory Lane? The closest he’s come is P3, and that was in May of 2023.

Joey Logano (+1600)

Joey Logano had a fast Ford on Saturday, but he couldn’t close the deal at Daytona. He got caught up in an accident, and the two-time Cup Series champion finished P31 on Saturday, a disappointing result.

Logano will be looking for his second win at Darlington in his 22nd attempt. He previously captured the checkered flag in South Carolina in May of 2022, and he’ll be hoping for his second win of the season on Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr. (+1600)

Martin Truex Jr. likely didn’t race for the final time at Daytona over the weekend, which is a good thing, because it would’ve ended his time at the track on a sour note. Even though he’s retiring from full-time competition, he’s expected to race the 2025 Daytona 500, where he’ll hope to finish better than P24, where he came home on Saturday.

During his Cup Series career, Truex Jr. has raced at Darlington 24 times. The former NASCAR champion has two victories at the track, including a Southern 500 win back in 2016, when he was racing with Furniture Row Racing.

Updated NASCAR Cup Series Championship Odds after Daytona:

  • Brad Keselowski (+2200)

  • Corey LaJoie (+70000)
  • Todd Gilliland (+80000)

  • Carson Hocevar (+80000)
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+80000)

  • Justin Haley (+100000)

As you can see, DraftKings still believes Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin are the drivers to beat in 2024, even if they’ve been dealt some tough hands over the last few weeks. With one race remaining until the playoffs begin, each driver will be looking to lock in and be ready for whatever comes their way over the next couple of months, and that all begins in Darlington.
