NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds: Betting lines updated after Kansas

The betting lines for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship have been updated following this past weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway.

Ross Chastain played spoiler once again during the playoffs, as he was victorious when the checkered flag waved. As for the playoff field as a whole, it was an uneven afternoon for some of the top contenders, like Kyle Larson, but William Byron and Ryan Blaney were able to secure top-five finishes.

Moving ahead in the Round of 12, two unpredictable tracks are on the docket, with Talladega and the Charlotte Roval ready for action. Before the NASCAR Cup Series moves forward, check out the updated odds for who will hoist the trophy at the end of the season, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Christopher Bell (+450)

Christopher Bell remains one of the Cup Series more consistent wheelmen. While the rest of his Joe Gibbs Racing team has been uneven, Bell has been leading the pack, racking up another top ten with a P7 finish at Kansas.

Moving on to Talladega, Bell has fared well at superspeedway races over the last couple of seasons, but the trip to Alabama earlier this year didn’t go too great. The No. 20 finished P38, which would be a disastrous result this time around.

Kyle Larson (+450)

Kyle Larson was hoping to follow up his Bristol domination with another win at Kansas, but a piece of debris put a damper on his afternoon. That led to Larson being put in a precarious position points-wise, as he finished P26 on Sunday.

Larson has famously never been great at superspeedway racing, as it’s the one blemish on his otherwise impeccable record. He only has one top-five in 19 tries, so perhaps No. 20 will be special for the No. 5 wheelman.

Ryan Blaney (+600)

Ryan Blaney captured a top-five at Kansas, as the reigning Cup Series champion finished P4 on Sunday afternoon. Ahead of Talladega and the Charlotte Roval, Blaney has put himself in a fantastic position to move onto the Round of 8.

While Talladega is as unpredictable as they come, Blaney has seemingly figured out how to end up in Victory Lane at the track. The Team Penske wheelman has three wins at the track, including one last season in the playoffs.

Denny Hamlin (+600)

After a borderline miserable Round of 16, Denny Hamlin started off the Round of 12 with a great run. Many thought he’d be in the running to win at Kansas, and while he wasn’t the best car on the afternoon, Hamlin still came home with a solid P8 finish.

This will be Hamlin’s 38th time racing at Talladega this weekend. Over the course of his Cup Series career, Hamlin has won at the track twice, and he’ll be looking to simply stay out of trouble this time around, with his first championship on his mind.

Tyler Reddick (+600)

Kansas had all the makings of a good afternoon for Tyler Reddick after the 23XI Racing wheelman secured a top-five starting spot. Instead, it wasn’t a fun day for Reddick, as he came home P25 in the opening race of the Round of 12.

Throughout his Cup Series tenure, Reddick hasn’t exactly been labeled as a superspeedway savant, but he pulled off an incredible move earlier this season, as he brought his No. 45 Toyota to Victory Lane back in April.

William Byron (+600)

William Byron started off the Round of 12 with a great performance, and the No. 24 wheelman certainly needed one. Bryon was the runner-up to Ross Chastain in Kansas, and he’ll be looking to build on his podium finish over the next two weeks.

It seems like each time the Cup Series returns to Talladega, Byron has ended up with a solid finish. The No. 24 wheelman has finished P2 in Alabama twice, including last season’s iteration during the playoffs.

Chase Elliott (+1000)

Chase Elliott hasn’t been contending for wins like he would like, but he’s been a staple in the top ten throughout 2024. That was evident once again over the weekend, as NASCAR’s most popular driver scored a P9 finish in Kansas.

This will be Elliott’s 18th trip to Talladega in the Cup Series. He’s won once, back in 2019, and he finished P15 during this year’s spring race. Perhaps he can lock himself into the Round of 8 with a win in Alabama.

Joey Logano (+1400)

Joey Logano started in the top five, and he was hoping to finish there in Kansas, but it wasn’t meant to be for the No. 22. Instead, the two-time Cup Series champion was forced to settle for a P14 afternoon, not too shabby to start the Round of 12.

When the Cup Series returns to Alabama on Sunday, Logano will be racing at Talladega for the 32nd time. He has two wins at the track, but he hasn’t finished above P19 since Oct. 2021. Maybe he can change his luck this time around, as he’s been fast at super speedways all season long.

As you can see, Kyle Larson still has the belief of the oddsmakers, even after his disappointing afternoon in Kansas. Perhaps Talladega will be more fruitful for him, but with the most unpredictable race of the entire playoffs on the docket, anything can happen in Alabama on Sunday.
