The betting lines for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship have been updated following this past weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Another non-playoff driver took a trip to Victory Lane on Sunday, as Ricky Stenhouse Jr. shocked the field and elevated his game to win at Talladega. Brad Keselowski and William Byron came close, but the former Daytona 500 champion was able to fend off all competitors, winning his first race of 2024.

Moving forward after Talladega, a bevy of playoff drivers have found themselves in a tough spot following the latest version of “The Big One” in Alabama. Check out the updated odds for who will hoist the trophy at the end of the season, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook, with the Charlotte Roval up next.

Kyle Larson (+450)

Kyle Larson doesn’t always have great luck at tracks like Talladega, but the Hendrick Motorsports star got through “The Big One” unscathed. He had a chance to get the win in Alabama, but he still finished with a more than solid P4 on the afternoon, something he’ll sign up for over and over again.

Moving ahead to the Roval, Larson has a win at the track in the past, which came back during the 2021 iteration of the race. He’s all but locked into the Round of 8, but he’ll still be looking to avoid disaster on Sunday afternoon.

Christopher Bell (+450)

Christopher Bell has seemingly mastered the art of capturing solid finishes at superspeedway races. Once again, Bell avoided wrecks throughout the afternoon, and while he wasn’t able to fight for the win, the Joe Gibbs Racing star put himself in tremendous position to advance to the Round of 8 with a P6 finish.

This will be the fifth time racing at the Roval for Bell. He’s won at the track in the past, back in 2022, so there’s some merit for the Joe Gibbs Racing wheelman to have success on Sunday afternoon.

William Byron (+600)

William Byron has continually turned it on throughout the playoffs after an up-and-down summer. Talladega saw him get back to the podium, as Byron brought the No. 24 to P3 when the checkered flag waved in Alabama.

Byron came close to winning at the Roval last season, but he came in second to AJ Allmendinger. H’es only finished worse than P16 once in six tries at the track, so there’s plenty of merit for the Hendrick star to continue his successful ways in Charlotte.

Denny Hamlin (+600)

Denny Hamlin wasn’t much of a factor throughout the day at Talladega, and he ended up involved in the wreck started by Alex Bowman at the end of Stage 2. Still, even with his damage, the No. 11’s strategy paid off, as “The Big One” missed him en route to a P10 finish in Alabama.

Hamlin only has one top five in six tries at the Roval. He hasn’t been able to quite figure out the track yet, and his P37 finish in 2023 is evidence of that, but perhaps 2024 will bring a better result for the veteran wheelman.

Tyler Reddick (+600)

After winning the spring race at Talladega, many had confidence that Tyler Reddick could repeat over the weekend. It wasn’t meant to be for the No. 45 wheelman, as Reddick came home P20 at a track he’s usually better at.

While Reddick hasn’t won at the Roval, it’s become one of his better tracks in the Cup Series. He’s never finished below P12 in four tries, and he actually came home P2 back in 2021, while racing for Richard Childress Racing.

Ryan Blaney (+600)

Ryan Blaney had some beef with Alex Bowman after Talladega, as the No. 48 wheelman sent the No. 12 around and into Ross Chastain, ending his afternoon as the field came to the line in Stage 2. If it wasn’t for “The Big One” collecting many playoff drivers, Blaney would be in a miserable spot heading into the Charlotte Roval after finishing P39 at Talladega.

Blaney actually won at the Roval in his first attempt, capturing victory on the final lap back in 2018. Can history be repeated? He’s only finished below P12 once in six attempts, so it should be a fruitful afternoon for the No. 12.

Chase Elliott (+1000)

Chase Elliott was leading a bit during the YellaWood 500, but the Hendrick Motorsports star was collected in “The Big One” on Sunday afternoon. His car looked beautiful with his baby blue Kelly Blue Book paint scheme, but it got torn up as he finished P29 on the day.

While Talladega didn’t end up being kind to Elliott, the Roavl has been in the past. He has two wins, which came in 2019 and 2020, and he’s only finished below P12 once in six attempts in Charlotte.

Joey Logano (+1400)

Joey Logano had a fast No. 22 Ford, but it wasn’t meant to be for the two-time Cup Series champion in Alabama over the weekend. He was one of the playoff drivers collected in “The Big One” after surviving the Ryan Blaney wreck, and it forced him to finish P33 on the afternoon.

While Logano has never won at the Roval, he does have a runner-up finish, which came in 2020. Otherwise, he’s always driven well at the track, except for a P18 in 2022, which still isn’t too shabby.

NASCAR Cup Series Championship Odds Continued:

  • Alex Bowman (+2000)
  • Austin Cindric (+7000)
  • Chase Briscoe (+8000)
  • Daniel Suarez (+8000)

As you can see, not much changed as it pertains to the championship contenders at the moment after Talladega, with Kyle Larson still possessing the belief of the oddsmakers. The Charlotte Roval can be an unpredictable track, so it’ll be interesting to see who’s able to move onto the Round of 8 when the checkered flag waves in North Carolina.
