NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds: Betting lines updated after Texas

The odds for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series title have been updated following the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway over the weekend.

Chase Elliott ended his winless streak in grand fashion, catapulting to victory and capping off some impressive runs over the last couple of weeks. Tyler Reddick had an awesome afternoon, and he came home with a P4 finish, but he certainly wanted more than he ended up with when the checkered flag waved.

Ahead of next weekend’s race at Talladega, there’s a litany of drivers looking to clinch their spot in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. As the campaign moves forward this weekend, here are the full updated NASCAR Cup Series title odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Denny Hamlin (+450)

Denny Hamlin has been a threat to win each week in the NASCAR Cup Series throughout 2024. This past weekend’s race at Texas was no different, as Hamlin was battling for the win when he spun himself out during the first green-white-checkered of the afternoon.

In the end, Hamlin came home with a P30 finish, but that doesn’t reflect the race he ran over the weekend. Looking ahead to Talladega, a place where Hamlin finished P17 and P3 in 2023, he’ll be looking to get his third win of 2024.

William Byron (+470)

William Byron was in prime position to steal another win at the end of Sunday’s race in Texas. In the end, the aforementioned Elliott ended up with the win, while Byron still made the podium, coming from out of nowhere to finish P3.

Ross Chastain might not be happy about it, as Byron got into the back of the No. 1 to bring out the final caution. Nevertheless, we’ll see if the Chevrolet teammates work together at Talladega. Byron’s been successful on super-speedway tracks, evident from his victory at Daytona in 2024.

Kyle Larson (+500)

Kyle Larson had one of the best cars at Texas over the weekend. Unfortunately, he ran into tire trouble, and that derailed his afternoon, leading to a P21 finish for the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

Talladega, and super-speedway tracks in general, haven’t always been kind to Larson. Last season when visiting Alabama, Larson came home with P33 and P15 finishes. He’ll be hoping it’s a more fruitful trip this time around.

Christopher Bell (+650)

After a spirited start to the season, Christopher Bell has cooled off a bit. However, the No. 20 wheelman is still racking up decent finishes, as he came home in P17 at Texas Motor Speedway, a track usually kinder to him.

Bell’s also become an underrated superspeedway racer throughout his time in Cup. Last season, the Joe Gibbs Racing star finished P8 and P14 at Talladega. Not too shabby for an unpredictable race track.

Chase Elliott (+900)

Chase Elliott returned to Victory Lane over the weekend, a sentence many NASCAR fans have been waiting to read. The No. 9 held off his competitors through some intense restarts, and was able to capture his first checkered flag in what seems like ages.

Could Elliott go back-to-back after ripping the band-aid off? Talladega was good to him last season, as he finished P12 and P7. It’s also the spot of his last win prior to last weekend’s race at Texas.

Martin Truex Jr. (+900)

Martin Truex Jr. continues to rack up great performances week-in and week-out. Even if he doesn’t have the best car, the No. 19 wheelman is certainly getting the most out of their equipment that they’re bringing to the track, it seems.

He came home P14 at Texas, and now will look for a win at Talladega. P27 and P18 in 2023 don’t tell the whole story for Truex, but super-speedway racing hasn’t come easy to him. Maybe that changes this weekend.

Ryan Blaney (+1000)

After an awesome start to the season, Ryan Blaney has entered a bit of a lull. Thankfully, one of his favorite race tracks is coming up this weekend, as Blaney always seems to find a way to be in the mix at Talladega.

The stench of a P33 finish at Texas is wearing off, and Blaney is thinking about his P2 and P1 finishes at Talladega from last season. It’s easy to see why many will be picking him to win when the Cup Series arrives in Alabama.

Ross Chastain (+1400)

Ross Chastain was racing for the win at Texas, and it ended with him pretty annoyed with William Byron. The No. 24 got into the back of the No. 1, and Chastain went from a top-five to P32 on the afternoon.

Will there be some payback at Talladega? That remains to be seen, but Chastain has been fond of the track in recent seasons, even capturing a win there in the spring of 2022.

Joey Logano (+1400)

Joey Logano is on an upward tick, it seems. The No. 22 couldn’t get out of its own way to start the season, but a P11 finish at Texas is yet another signal that the veteran is rounding into form in 2024.

It still hasn’t turned into a win, but Logano is always strong on super-speedways. He had some tough luck at Talladega in 2023, but perhaps that’s changing this season, as the No. 22 looks to cement themselves into the playoffs.
