NASCAR Cup Series championship odds updated after Sonoma
With 16 races now in the books during the 2023 regular season, the NASCAR Cup Series championship odds have been updated. The latest edition trickled out after the conclusion of last week’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 from Sonoma Raceway.
Martin Truex Jr. sits atop the NASCAR Cup Series standings currently. He took the checkered flag at Sonoma on Sunday, marking his fourth victory at the road course in his career. It’s also the No. 19 driver’s second win of 2023.
But Truex’s hot streak as of late doesn’t give him the best betting odds to win the championship. Instead, he won’s the fifth-best odds to add a second title to his resumé. Per NASCAR.com, here’s a look at the 10 drivers with the best odds to claim a championship in the Cup Series:
- Kyle Larson: 5-1
- Kyle Busch: 6-1
- William Byron: 7-1
- Denny Hamlin: 8-1
- Martin Truex Jr.: 8-1
- Chase Elliott: 10-1
- Christopher Bell: 10-1
- Joey Logano: 11-1
- Ryan Blaney: 12-1
- Ross Chastain: 14-1
These things tend to fluctuate quite a bit over the course of a season. It’ll be interesting to see how much these alter after this weekend’s visit to Nashville Superspeedway for the Ally 400.
And, keep this in mind, bettors: one fan cashed in an $86,000 payday last weekend after an impressive parlay. The NASCAR viewer placed a $25 bet on Aric Almirola to win the Xfinity Series race and Truex to claim the checkered flag in the Cup Series event.
