NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity purses for New Hampshire weekend revealed

The USA Today 301 is right around the corner. NASCAR action is coming to New Hampshire and there is a lot of money up for grabs in both races. Cup Series and Xfinity Series races will take place and the winners will earn a pretty paycheck to boot.
Each week, NASCAR makes the total purse money known. That includes the money every driver earns for their finishing position as well as the money that the 36-chartered Cup Series teams will earn as part of the charter agreement.
Depending on the race and the venue you might see a little more money than other races. Earlier this season, the Daytona 500 paid out more than $28 million in total, by far the largest purse of the season.
For the NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire, there is not quite as much cash out there. But there is still plenty to earn for these teams and drivers.
The Cup Series will pay out $7,876,911 in total. Xfinity Series drivers will be paid out $1,270,055 in total. Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports provided the numbers this week.
The winner of the Cup Series race is going to get a healthy six-figure paycheck. As for the Xfinity Series, the winning driver will earn roughly 3-5% of the total purse. The purse money has a lot to do with the TV media deal and how much networks are paying for each product.
Of course, that means the Cup Series is being supported much more than the Xfinity Series. For example, the newest media rights deal values the Cup Series about 8 to 9 times more than the Xfinity Series and about 10 times as much as the Truck Series.

NASCAR heads to New Hampshire
The racing at New Hampshire is hit or miss. When it comes to this weekend, it will be another battle with Mother Nature as NASCAR hopes the rain stays away from the USA Today 301. Right now, I’d expect at least one or two things to be delayed at the very least this weekend.
Last season, Martin Truex Jr. put on a masterclass. One of his classic performances where he just dominated the entire day and came away with the win. That would be a welcome result for Truex who has been on a tough skid in the last five or six weeks.
Since earning a P4 result at Kansas, Truex has finishes of P25, P12, P34, P27, and P15. The speed he had early in the year has gone away and it is not clear if he will get that back. This is a similar skid to the one he had in the summer of 2022, a season where he failed to win a race.
The NASCAR Cup Series at New Hampshire will be a fun race. Those fans in the Northeast love coming out to the track to catch the action. The crowd should be great and the drivers will be battling hard over that prize money. And the giant lobster.
