NASCAR drivers sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' at Chicago Cubs game
When in Rome, they say. Three NASCAR drivers were selected to represent the sport in Chicago at Wrigley Field and performed their hearts out. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Harrison Burton from the Cup Series were joined by John Hunter Nemechek from the Xfinity Series for a wonderful rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
That Seventh Inning Stretch, a thing of beauty. One of the greatest traditions in sports. Then you throw in three race car drivers and tell them to do their best. While none of these drivers are going to have a music career and sing at the Opry like Kyle Petty, it looked like they had fun.
When you go out to watch the Cubs, you should have fun. Nemechek threw out a solid first pitch that actually made it to its target. Then later on in the game when the Cubs faithful needed some rallying down 3-1, the NASCAR crew was there to lift their spirits.
Stenhouse Jr. has some mic skills. He plugged the race and went right into the song like a pro.
Unfortunately, the Phillies were able to complete the series sweep of the Chicago Cubs even with the support from NASCAR. It looked like a great crowd though and surely some of those folks are heading out to the races this weekend.
The good news is that the Cubs are back in action all weekend against the Cleveland Guardians. Those folks in Chicago for the NASCAR race will be able to get to a game if they really want.

NASCAR Chicago Street Race favorites
As we turn our attention from the Cubs game to the Chicago Street Race, there is a handful of drivers that are favorites. The folks in Las Vegas just don’t know how to split this one up. With so many unknowns and a lack of any previous history, it is a hard one to pick a favorite for.
So, the bookmakers have listed four drivers as early favorites in this race. Tyler Reddick, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Martin Truex Jr. are all listed at 7-1 odds going into the weekend. That will change as practice and qualifying start to sift out the strong cars and drivers from the ones that are going to struggle.
Those four are likely the best road course drivers in the Cup Series. You throw AJ Allmendinger in there with them and it would be almost impossible to find a better group of five. Allmendinger isn’t far off from the favorites as he sits back at 11-1 odds.
