Every race day, NASCAR fans line up in droves in hope of getting autographs from their favorite drivers.

As you would imagine, the most common items you see signed are t-shirts and hats among other items. But before Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, we saw perhaps a first. One fan requested his dentures get signed and wouldn’t you know it, Kyle Larson and Harrison Burton stepped up to the plate.

“This is a dream come true,” said Austin Woolwine, the fan who got his dentures signed.

Larson indeed autographed the ultra-specific item before making his seventh career Brickyard 400 start. Larson, who started fifth at IMS, is looking for Brickyard 400 win No. 1. He finished a career best P5 back in 2016.

He notably raced at IMS in May when he attempted to complete the Indy-Charlotte Double. Though it didn’t quite work out and he didn’t run any laps in the Coca-Cola 600, he did finish 18th in the Indy 500.

Kyle Larson explains mindset of racing Chase Elliott for regular season championship ahead of Brickyard 400

Larson is also racing fellow Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott for the regular season points championship. Elliott entered Sunday’s race just three points ahead of Larson.

It’s a tightly contested battle at the top and Larson wouldn’t want it any other way.

“No, I mean I think I’ve been getting that question I feel like a lot the last couple of months and no, I feel like our teams work. Still all four teams work really well together,” Larson said this week, via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “All the teammates, driver-wise still have great communication in meetings in stuff. And asking questions back and forth and getting good answers to help each other. So, I think that’s important when you’re trying to continue to grow as an organization. And I feel like Hendrick Motorsports, at least in my time being there in the three and a half seasons now, all of that has been really well.

“Competing for a regular season championship with Chase, and William is honestly not too far out of it, as well, I think it’s cool. I think it means our teams doing a good job. And then you have Reddick and Denny in there as well. It’s extremely tight at the top and I don’t know when is the last time it’s been this tight between four or five teams. So, yeah, makes you be on your game. We’ve been a little inconsistent here lately just with some DNFs and stuff, which is a bummer, but yeah, hopefully, we can finish out the regular season pretty strong here. It’d be nice to get those 15 bonus points.”
